Great TV at a Great Price!

Thanks to Sam's Club's online Black Friday sale I was able to get a great deal on this TV and have it delivered to my vacation home in the mountains. We set it up quickly and easily without even referring to the instructions. I love that it has 4 HDMI ports, 1 optical audio port, 2 USB ports, plus ethernet, composite and coaxial inputs. It's hooked up to a cable box, BluRay player, game console, and a home theater audio system. It was interesting that we had to use an ethernet connection to set up wireless, but it all worked out well. The picture is clear and crisp, even for sporting events (NFL) due to 1080p resolution with 120Hz refresh rate. The large screen looks wonderful in our living room. Glare is not an issue, even in a room with many windows.

Ordered this TV due to reviews I have seen and quality. Upon arrival the screen was shattered. It seems two sizes of this brand had a rash of shattered screens. I would like the same set as a replacement, but they are not available and what is being offered I have no knowledge of.

Overall not bad, but settings were to intricate

After having a Vizio and one of it's popular competitor's Tv brand, I personally will never buy a Vizio again. Im still on analog Tv I belive it's called, but still, my other tv picture quality was perfect but when I bought the Vizio, my picture quality was not as good. I also extremely disliked how difficult it was to set up the TV. There were too many setting options that was asked I feel like someone would have to be very knowledgable in all these areas to get the best possible quality out of the tv. Also, I very much disliked how there were 4 different options on how to place the picture on the screen. None of these options fit the tv perfectly. 3 of the options did not fit the screen and even the zoom cut out some of the picture. Overall, not a bad tv but I did not personally like it. I think it is worth spending a little extra and getting the tv that is in competition with Vizio, which is why I returned my TV and got it's competitor's brand. Much more satisfied. =)

Bad picture, They hook you on paid services

The black level is very non-uniform, a problem with side-lit LED TV's. Contrast is poor even when cranked up. Overall disappointing picture quality for the high price. Our 8-year old Samsung TV has a better picture. And the extra special features are not so special. It works with paid services (like Hulu+), not the free versions (like Hulu). TV to start up is slooow, probably because of the internal processor for those extra $$$ services. Remote control is annoying. Small buttons for functions you always use. Get a dumb TV + a $60 android TV stick and save hundreds of dollars. And then upgrade the TV stick when a better one comes out. You are still way ahead. Avoid this overpriced turkey.

50” VIZIO Smart TV w/ Wi-fi not Good picture

I saw the TV-50 inch Vizio at Sam's club and the color and sharpness was great, in my home, it is not great. It is below average. I do have cable, Comcast/Xfinity and I do not pay extra for HDTV, when I ordered Comcast I did not know I had to pay extra for HD, I thought if you got Cable it was included in the box. I do stream Netflix, the picture is better on my Monitor computer and not the TV. 50” VIZIO LED 1080p 120Hz Smart TV w/ Wi-Fi

Very poor customer service.

I purchased this tv on 7/14/13. Upon getting it home and setting up I had a problem with the remote not working. I called Vizio support and they had me do some tests to determine if the remote was functioning. They determined that it was not and would have to be replaced. They told me that it takes 7 to 9 business days to replace a remote. Cmon what are they kidding me. Try setting up a TV these days without the remote. A tech tried to help us do the setup but was unsuccessful. So I have a new TV that I paid $648 for but cannot use it for 7 to 9 business days. Very disappointed in Vizio customer service or should I say lack of timely service. Something as simple as replacing a remote should take no more than 2 or 3 days. They give you this big explanation as to why it takes so long. They have a faulty, ridiculously slow replacement system and want you to understand why it takes so long. Who cares, just get me my remote on a timely basis. Next time, I'll buy another brand, and you should too.

No picture! but sound worked

We were never able to use this tv and returned it for another brand the same day of purchase. There was audio but no picture (other than one fleeting moment). My husband and I are both experienced with electronics and we performed multiple checks on connections, etc. When we called customer service, both agents asked us to "read them the message on the screen," to which I explained again the screen was blank. Audio was fine. Vizio agent said that obviously the unit was a dud and would need to be sent in and they would ship us a new unit. I declined and returned the tv to Sams for a Samsung instead. Sams had several returns of the same tv the same day but said this was unusual, that usually Vizio is a not frequently returned. By the way, no trouble getting the new Samsung to work.

Bad customer service

Purchased this TV for my kids and family on the same day the previous one died. But I got it with one of the damaged bolt holes which are used for the wall mount screws. Contacted VIZIO customer service for the required part information which they don't have it and are not cooperative to provide any such details. Customer service asked me to provide proof of purchase and issue pictures but still they are unable to help me in getting the required part details. This is one of worst customer service and has no proper technical representative to understand the issue and help the customer. I spent about 3 hours on call with them but representatives are not putting any effort to provide the part information. The TV book which comes with the TV also does not have any such details.

Love it!

Sound is no better than other flat screens. Why do they insist on placing speakers on the back?
