Warm and toasty

Super quiet.  Buying a second one it works so well.

Takes a some time to warm the room I'm using it in.  But it does make it more comfortable.

Heats a large room efficiently and safely. Also the remote is a gem to use.

These heaters work great and it is convenient to have the remote control.

Was very hopeful, but ended up disappointed. We have always used a Lasko heaters and been very pleased, but this one did not meet the standard. The plug and cord became VERY hot to the touch. This was not due to a faulty outlet. We plugged it into the same outlet we have used each winter for the last 15 years with other Lasko heaters. Obviously a faulty heater.

This Lasko heater fell short of past Lasko heaters

I live in a high rise with an HVAC system.  When it died and there was a 2  month delivery delay for a replacement I bought this Lasko 5538 heater and it has been great. It easily heated a 600 sq ft area.  I haven't used the remote, no need to, and I usually run it on Hi to start and turn down to Low as soon as the area warms enough.  Initially I was concerned that the plug got really hot if run very long on Hi but the FAQ section on the Lasko website said that was normal.  The oscillating feature spreads the heat throughout the room avoiding hot/cold spots and the fan is strong enough to spread heat a good distance from it.  It is quiet, so much so that I forget it is running.  It is light weight and easy to carry from room to room if needed.  Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and it saved me on some cold mornings when my central HVAC heat unit wasn't working.  Yes I would buy it again and recommend to a friend.  This review is not part of a promotion. I reviewed it because it is a good buy and I hope the info I provided is helpful when you are looking for a good quality and safe space heater.
