i am a courier and have bought michelin energy saver tires 4 times and have been very happy. they are no longer available at every attempt to buy i was steered to the defender tire which i ended up buying. quiet, good in rain, looks like it wears well- all things i expect in a michelin tire. the problem is my 2000 honda insight fuel economy has gone from a very consistent 51 mpg to 43 mpg immediately starting with these tires. i know they were rated by michelin at 8 stars out of 10, but that is not accurate compared to the energy savers.(tires are broke in, over 20k and hasnt improved)

just bought a set of LTX/2 for my 99 chev 4x4,back in April I had the old style LTX/MS on there for 10 yrs and 80,000 miles and they still had tread left,only reason I got a new set was, the tread separated and started to vibrate,so today I put a set of Defenders on my 2000 Buick what a difference in the car,they are quiet and drives like a new car Michelin is the only tire I buy for my vehicles hope they last as long as my first set on my chevy truck

I replaced the Michelin Hydroedge tires on my car with the new Michelin Defender. I was pleased with the hydroedge, so I was a bit disappointed that I could no longer get them. However, I have been quite pleased with the Defenders. They seem to hug the road well in dry or wet conditions. My all wheel drive crossover handles well, and gas mileage has been good. They provide a fairly quiet ride unless a rock gets stuck in the tread. I haven't had them long enough to say how they will wear, but at this point I'm happy with my purchase.

The defender tires replaced the original set of Michelins on my Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was noticably quieter and gas mileage increased. The mileage between fill ups increased by 7%. On trips it has done the same, so rolling resistance has improved. Hopefully, the total wear out mileage will prove to be better than the previous set. I do rotate tires regularly and check air pressures semi-monthly. In closing, I think Michelin makes a very good product.

I bought these tires to replace other Michelin tires that done well by me and my Honda CR-V but had now worn out & been discontinued. I love these tires. I live down a dirt road and use my CR-V for all types of road driving and weather conditions. These tires seem to hold the road more securely and smoothly than others I've had and the most surprising feature was that they cut down on road noise inside my vehicle. That was a noticable difference even to my friends who also have a CR-V. They were driving on the same type tires that I had before and now because of my experience with these Defenders, they aren't even going to shop around when it is time to replace their tires. They already know they want these too. This is a great product and they keep me going everywhere I want to go and make the ride enjoyable.

Love hate Relationship I been driving on michelin tires for 24 yrs from the ( X One ) to the ( X Radial or Harmony) to the Defender .The Defender in my mind is from the great X One, which is now the defender. or close to the performance tire now the MXM4 with sun flower oil. The defender has better handling & braking than the MXV4 and Lattude tour but it looks like the two others has better Gas mileage and Comfort. I seen cracking at 6 to 9 yrs but never in 23 months. Wish the tire had more CAPABILTY to last longer I even went from 99T to 103T air presure is 38 psi cold the back tires never rotated.they all dry rotter or cracked in 19,000 miles , I only checked them because i was helping a friend but new tires. where they cracked earlyer ? The Defender is the best tire in the rain it stops like dry conditions. The handing comes from the x one and now the Performance tire mxm4 or close to by aperance in my option. Rember the baby in the tire commerical ( X one ) I just wish michelin would do more for quality. The old days the tires were thicker and heavyer. I also bought and helped other w tires about 8 sets . I allways followed the recommended tire Pressure . Having a van I never added weight over 300 pounds .Maybe ill lower the pressure to 32 psi the rides softer but no as ferm as 38 psi .Ill experiment to get the best comfort and handling resultes . I live in the north east ,There great in the snow ALLWAYS CONFERDENT w them . But Im NOT HAPPY NOW and should not need to rebuy tires in TWO years . Please Michelin add sunflower oil to them so we can enjoy our tires . The Michelin Warrent Dept is working with me as we speak.

While shopping for my latest set of Michelins I was surprised at the low price and the high treadwear rating of the Defender tires. I was afraid they would be hard and noisy but instead have found them to be quiet and grippy. I liked them well enough to buy a second set for my daughter's 2011 Honda Civic. These have been my favorite Michelins in the thirty years I've been a Michelin customer.

I bought a set of these Michelin defender tires for my daughter back in 2013, she commutes to work and now after 20,000 miles on them, they still look almost brand new. We rotate the tires twice a year. The ride is comfortable and not noisy on these great tires from Michelin. I also bought the same tires for my son's car in 2014 and the first week he hit a pot hole and ripped one of the tires but the rest have done so well thus far and he is very happy with them. I am planning to buy Michelin tires for my wife's car next. Thank you Michelin for such great product, An excellent brand name in tires, keep up the good work. Shawn R.

I replaced all of my tires and immediately I could tell the difference! My ride was smoother, my gas mileage improved from 22 to 27 mpg average and my driving confidence increased. I even got a full set for my daughter. Thank you for making such an awesome tire!

Tire has great traction and performance in wet weather on my 2003 Odyssey. Tread life has been great so far. I am almost 15,000 miles in and the tires still look almost like new. I do mainly highway and city driving and they feel very smooth and noise has not been a factor at all with these tires.
