What a difference these tires made.

Our 2012 Mazda 5 has always had a lot of road noise until we installed a set of 4 Michelin Defender tires. What a difference these tire have made. The road noise is almost totally eliminated and we really love driving this car now. This is not a slam at the Mazda but the factory tires were loud. The handling is greatly improves and the wet road traction is unbelievable. I just wish we had bought these tires when we purchased the car. A big thanks to Michelin for a great product. Bob

Michelin Defender Tires

I have purchased Michelin tires before- even the Hydro edge tires but this time as soon as I drove away with my four new Defender tires the difference was amazing! These tires make the ride so smooth that it feels as if the car is floating on the tires- I drive a 2003 Subaru Outback and could not be happier with the tires. Smooth and comfy and oh so wonderful- Worth the extra that they cost and I highly recommend them

Why I bought the Defender

My Dad got our family's 240D with his 'Nam combat pay and it's going strong. Yet while diesel and Mercedes are "in"-- 14 inch rims are not so much. After consider our options, the Defender came out on top-- nudging out a Radial and it's muscle car logo (cool but not really a cosmetic accessory to a Diesel); a major brand-- maker of those tires with very weak shoulders; and that very inexpensive tire for which the new trade agreement has reduced tarriffs--enough said. Only concern was that despite Michelin's reputation for quality--a high mileage low resistance tire might be hard as the proverbial rock and very unkind on our baby smoker's suspension. Michelin customer service explained the technology and pointed out the road test warranty-- so we'll cross our fingers and go for it. Regarding mileage complaints-- just a thought, a worn out tire can get great MPG vs. a new tire--sometimes MPG only gets better the more the tread wear. Of course a new tire will also grip the road, at the cost of a bit of road friction and a change in mileage. Looking forward to 30 days or 90,000 miles under Michelin's excellent warranty.

Very quiet and smooth riding tires

I brought the Michelin Defender tires for my SUV in the fall of 2012. My Suzuki Grand Vitara now rides smoother and quieter than it did the day I brought it! The tires are great and they reduce the "bumps" in the road so that you don't feel them much and they are very quiet at all speeds. The handling of my SUV is still great too. I have been a Michelin customer for years and these tires don't disappoint. Great job Michelin!

Extreme happiness with my Defender Tires

We have been extremely happy with the quiet , comfortable ride that we are getting with our Defender tires. They car handles much better. They made us realize what we had been missing from the ride we should have been getting before with the tires we were using!

strong tires but noisey

I bought a full set of Michelin defenders for my 2009 Honda Ridgeline. They perform well under all driving conditions, but on the road they are markedly noisier than the original equipment Michelin tires. Although the handing is excellent I am not satisfied with the road noise. I am aware that they have stiffened the rubber compound to increase lifetime wear, however I am probably going back to the tire store to see what I can do. I have Michelin's on all my vehicles and none have the road noise these do. Sorry Michelin! I'd give the road noise a 3 out of 10.

It give one comfort and confidence.

We have Michelin tires on our family van which we not only use locally but for long road trips. We have been in snow and ice storms in the mountains and on dirt roads in the southwest in the past year with great traction provided and a smooth, quiet ride.

Oh where oh where is the wear.

I have a minivan that my wife drives everywhere with the kids. You have also been on vacations where we have put on a lot of miles. The Defeners that we bought were the 4th Michelin tires that I have purchased for a vechile of mine. the tires ride great as all of my Michelins do but for some reason the tire wear was not greatest. I rotate and always check air pressure and for some reason thesetires did not wear well like my Michelins in the past. My wife and I continue using Michelins because I feel its the the most comfortable and safe tires since my kids are always on board.

Defenders for a 2010 Jetta

I put Michelin Defenders on my 2010 VW Jetta in Nov. 2013 just before the weather turned bad in NE Ohio. In the short period of time they have been on the car I have been satisfied with there performance. Good on dry roads and better then average in the snow. I am hoping they will continue to perform well and last for years.

Good Tire

Bought first set of Defender tire at 39,000 they lasted to 88,000. Talked to customer service and was told that the warrenty would be honored. The hoops needed to get the Pro- Rated amount are large. Tires need to be returned to Michelin with Documentation. Then need to be approved. Dealer is approved on this web page.Found this to be unaceptable for dealer so paid full amount and will wait for return. Tires rotated at every oil change and is documented with dealer paper work. Like the tires and am willing to wait.
