The best tire for my SUV

I have had several sets of tires for my 2006 Honda CRV,all failing prematurely in mileage. My first set of Michelin tires was the" Harmony". I liked them so much,I wanted to get another set. I found out that they were replaced with the "Defender", so I decided to give them a try. The tires are still too new to review at this time, but if they run as good as the Harmony, I will be elated! So far, so good!

Great Tire

I believe these Michelin Defender tires are the best tire I have ever put on a small car ( Honda Civic ) they hold the road rain or shine where as the tires that came on the car new they would hydroplane in any type of heavy rain. also the ride is good. they hold a curve well, the other tire would seem to roll under. fuel mileage is about the same.

Finally got what I paid for!

I paid for a performance car, but it drifted on accelerated corners much too soon. When the road was wet the car never felt like it was stabile. At the price paid for this I gave wet stops so much latitude that I must have made the folks behind me nuts. I just felt unsafe. Dearler could do nothing and said that it had performance tires...albeit not top of the line tires. After substantial research I returned to the Michelin brand I had used on my truck prior to this purchase; "Defenders" specifically. Not only was cost of the original tires a waste, the price of the car is a waste if the tires won't let it perform to the engineer's design. It was great to finally get my money's worth! I have since put these on my son's car and recommended them to friends. Note: these are much more quiet than the older Michelins I've owned. Also, the older Michelins were rated for 65K miles. I logged over 200K and on a truck, no less. With an expected 90,000 mile life, I can't wait to see if these outlast the car.

BEST FAMILY SEDAN TIRE ON THE MARKET

LONGEST WEARING TIRE I'VE DRIVEN ON. HANDLES GREAT, VERY GOOD WET TRACTION, SMOOTH AND QUIET, SEEMS TO RISIST FLATS BETTER THAN OTHER TIRES I HAVE OWNED. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY FLATS YET. I AM GETTING BETTER GAS MILEAGE. AFTER 20K MILES, I STILL HAVE 8/32" OF TREAD RUBBER LEFT. MY TIRE DEALER PROVIDES THE TIRE MAINTANCE SO I CAN GET MAXIMUM WEAR. DEFENDERS ARE THE BEST TIRES AND I HAVE GREAT SERVICE FROM MY TIRE DEALER. THANKS BIB MAN

Where safety comes first.

Michelin uses cutting edge technology to give superior performance in any kind of road condition, dry or wet. Today's autos are pushed harder and faster than ever before, and its nice to know your family's safety is protected by the best tire that is made. Some things cannot be valued by money.

Cross Country w/ PopUp Camper in-tow

Last summer (2012), I purchased 4 new Michelin Defenders for my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. This was for my cross country drive for my new military assignment. I drove from Charleston, SC to San Diego, CA then shipped the vehicle to Honolulu, HI. I towed a pop up camper with the mission of my family and I stopping at every National Park we could find along the way. My wife and I have four kids all under 12, so we had to have dependable equipment to keep us safe on our journey. The Dreputation of Michelin and the review of the Defender tire gave us confidence that our 3000+ mile drive would go well. And it did. With a tow, we drove thru rain, mountain, and desert with precision handling, comfortable ride, low noise, and strong foundation. The tread continues to wear well one year later in my new tropical climate. Great trip. Great tire.

Defender Quality

I've had Michelins before so when it came time to redo my 2003 Saturn Vue V6 AWD I turned to the Defender. This tire is quieter than my previous tire and is smooth riding. Handling is fine and I expect long life from them. They have shown good traction in the snow we have had this winter and I have no qualms with my wife using the Saturn as her regular car.

So far so good

I just purchased these tires yesterday and seeing a difference in driving right away. I do not know if it is due to new tires or b/c of Michelin tires. But driving is much smoother and also seeing less gas being used. Will see if this holds true after few years.

Hydro Edge to Defender

It was time for new tires for my 2003 Honda CRV as my Hydro Edge tires had seen better days. I found out that they were no longer available and had been replaced by the Defender. I was skeptical at first since they did not have the same aggressive tread design as the Hydro Edge. I am glad I went with the Defenders. In my opinion they handle better then the Hydro Edge and they have far less road notice. Living in the south we get a good deal of rain. I feel comfortable driving in the rain and I feel even more comfortable letting my Wife drive the car in the rain. We do not get much snow so I can not comment on the snow traction. The treat life is great they show very little signs of wear. I have recommended these tires to my mother in law and even though hey come with a steep price tag they are worth the money. They will last you a long time as long as you keep the tires rotated and the car aligned. 2003 Honda CRV 215,000 miles South Carolina

Handling is great but the Quiet is nice.

I researched the tire on line and decided to buy the Defneder. Based on projected handling. The handling is improved especially in all the rain we have had. I drive a small car (Pontiac Vibe) that is noted for road noise. Since I got the four tires the road noise is much lower than the previous tires. Thanks for a great tire.
