Best tire I have ever used

I am currently going on 5 years with my MIchelin tires and it's like riding on air. They were highly recommended for my Sequoia, and I can see why. I will never own a different brand tire. At first they seemed to be over priced, but after experiencing the comfortable ride, better braking, fuel efficiency, and over all quality tire, it is well worth the price. You gotta try a set and see for yourself!

confident driving in incliment weather

We live in the midwest, but travel to both sides of the continent to visit our granddaughters. Usually involves some sort of bad weather, be it rain, ice or snow. The grip and stability of these tires is great. Many folks in the Catskill Mountain area have their snow tires on, and we realize it could get that bad, but with our front wheel drive car and Michelin tires we feel confident in most situations. We also had several incidences to to drive in torrential downpours, and have had no hyrdoplaning problems. To sum up, quality tires bring real peace of mind when you're on the road.

Seriously? Why should I believe you?

My auto care guy told me I wanted the Michelin Defender tire when time came to replace my original tires last November. As much as I like Dave, I couldn't get past the idea of being "sold" anything. The skeptical bone began to ache and I simply told him to give me some options. After reviewing 7 tires in all price ranges - much to his chagrin - I said I'd try them but I wanted the option of return-ing the tires if they were any less than he said they'd be. He even gave me the number of a guy who bought them a week earlier than I and told me this guy was more picky than I am. Sounded like a challenge to me! We were in the process of driving from Ohio to Wisconsin weekly to visit w/my brother-in-law in the final stages of terminal cancer. The weather through Indiana and Chicago was the best test of the Defenders. Racing through the city at 75-80mph, stop & go on the highways, rain, wind, near flooding conditions on the roads and then the ever appearing toll booths. The car had never handled better and the ride never as smooth as on that trip. Mileage greatly improved too! Long story short, I still have them and love driving through all weather conditions while others sit on the side of the road or choose to drive 20mph in the left lane with their hazard flashers blinking. Best tire I have come across in over 50 years of driving in all conditions over half of the globe.

Significent difference

I read the review in Consumer Reports on your tires and although the factory tires Michelin's on my 2010 Honda Oddessy were not low on tread or worn I decided to make a change due to some minor handling issues. immediately I noticed a marked difference in handing on curves and cornering. Also the wet weather traction and resistance to hydroplaning at x-way speeds in rain is much better. My highway speed varies according to traffic and from state to state so it is hard to say how much of an improvement was made on my mileage but it has been over the past 10 months about a 1-2 mile improvement over the old tires. The braking has improved noticeably in both wet and dry conditions. The handing on expressway curves in wet weather has been the best improvement with these tires. I am very please with these tires and would recommend them to anyone who asks. I agree totally with Consumers Reports rating of them.

Best for our family

After 3 month of research I found Defender by Michelin is best for our family. Living in very hot weather with a lot of afternoon rain showers, it was difficult to find the tire that covers both yet giving the safety for my wife driving the Honda van. After installing the tire I found the car to be driving even better than brand new. It seem to have a much better handling and firm grip on the road. Now, I have the tires on for almost six month and the van still drive really well and have not heard a complaint from my wife, which is great plus.

It give one comfort and confidence.

We have Michelin tires on our family van which we not only use locally but for long road trips. We have been in snow and ice storms in the mountains and on dirt roads in the southwest in the past year with great traction provided and a smooth, quiet ride.

I needed these

I brought a set of these tires this spring and outside of picking up a nail in one of them i've had no problems. They make my ride feel smooth I would recommend them to family and friends. I haven't had a set of michelin tires before and will consider them in the future.

Well Pleased

Used on Honda Odyssey regular family in town driving predominantly but also highway trips. Tires ride great - NO Noise. Have held pressure well and wear seems good after 1 year (20K miles). I am well pleased - would purchase again and recommend. I trust my family on them.

Finally got what I paid for!

I paid for a performance car, but it drifted on accelerated corners much too soon. When the road was wet the car never felt like it was stabile. At the price paid for this I gave wet stops so much latitude that I must have made the folks behind me nuts. I just felt unsafe. Dearler could do nothing and said that it had performance tires...albeit not top of the line tires. After substantial research I returned to the Michelin brand I had used on my truck prior to this purchase; "Defenders" specifically. Not only was cost of the original tires a waste, the price of the car is a waste if the tires won't let it perform to the engineer's design. It was great to finally get my money's worth! I have since put these on my son's car and recommended them to friends. Note: these are much more quiet than the older Michelins I've owned. Also, the older Michelins were rated for 65K miles. I logged over 200K and on a truck, no less. With an expected 90,000 mile life, I can't wait to see if these outlast the car.

Goes the distance

I only purchase Michelin tires. I have found that the tires go the distance and the manufacturer does stand behind their product. The new Defenders I purchased for my car are 90,000 mile tires and I have the tires rotated on a regular basis to extend their life. I am buying my son his first car tomorrow and will need to purchase new tires. It is a used car and winter is coming, so he to will learn why I buy Michelins and what he too can expect from Michelin. I do recommend the brand as they have served me well over the past 30+ years.
