Always Losing Phone App Connection

I’ve had to delete my Forerunner 55 from my phone’s Connect app and resync once or twice a week. It loses sync with my iphone routinely. I’ve repeatedly followed all troubleshooting steps and the problem persists. Apple watch looking better and better.

All I Hoped It Would Be!

This is my first Garmin after having many Fitbit devices since 2015. I’m beyond pleasantly impressed. The battery goes and goes without a charge compared to any Fitbit I owned. The functionality is great and it has so much more than I ever had with Fitbit.

Overall great running watch with upgraded features

I upgraded from the Forerunner 35 to the 55. The GPS engages faster, which I really like. It also appears to be more accurate. I really like the Body Battery function (which wasn't on the 35). It uses HRV (heart rate variability), a more accurate measure to determine when or how long you need to recover from an activity. A few things I'm still getting used to--how many buttons are needed to push to get to various functions. It is more complicated than the 35, but that could be because I'm still learning how to use it. I'm also getting used to notifications not popping up instantly, but doing a step before I can see emails etc. Overall, it is a great watch and good value for the $.

Not Intuitive, DIfficult to Navigate

I had a FitBit iconic that I really liked, but it got recalled due to an over-heating defect. It was all touch screen and swiping. I'm struggling trying to look at online videos to figure out how to use the features I really care about. Why does the time take up 80% of the display?

Unusable

This was my first fitness watch purchase with the aim to track running. I went with Garmin thinking it was a reputable brand. Immediately upon opening a software update was required for the watch and the watch became locked in ‘wheelchair mode’. I do not use a wheelchair and the watch won’t track steps or a run and is therefore unusable. This experience has turned me off Garmin and trying to rely on any fitness tracker at all.

Where’s the strength training option?

I received this as a gift and it works well but I was disappointed that there is no strength option. Even runners lift weights. This seems to be a common complaint about this watch which makes me wonder why this issue hasn’t been fixed. I also had to carry the user manual around with me for a week to figure out which of the 5 buttons did what…once I figured everything out it works fine but I wish it was simpler to navigate.

Good upgrade from FR220

I bought this once my FR 220 battery went bad after several years and glad I chose this model. It is a great basic running watch with a lot of great features, some of which I’ll probably never use. My only suggestion is that Garmin shouldn’t have discontinued the foot pod because even when you calibrate it on a treadmill then go back to use it at a different speed it doesn’t seem to match up as good with the treadmill like my original watch did that had a foot pod. Other than that I like it!

Amazing Watch for a reasonable price

Still getting to know all of it's features. Love all of the data I get for my runs. GPS is very accurate. It under estimates distances, but by an insignificant amount. It more than meets my needs for tracking running, biking and walking. I highly recommend this watch.

Excellent watch at a low price

My first smartwatch. I've used this for a couple weeks, so I'll only give it 4 stars based on duration of use. I use it for hiking. It's simple, great for showing time, distance, heart rate, etc. The battery life is excellent and charges extremely fast. After a 3 and a half hour 15 mile hike the battery was still at 87%. If I could change anything it would be to display more data on the activity screen. Other than that, I'm impressed. Would recommend.

Great watch for running

I got this watch to help me track my run times, I hate running but this at least helps give me feed back about pace and distance. It's nice that it gives me alerts from my phone about texts or calls if I don't have my phone directly on me. My only complaint was while I was abroad it kept the time in America and this watch is expensive but it is cheaper than other options.
