I JUST purchased this watch, have had it maybe 2 weeks and the battery already drains within a day. The first week everything was fine, the charge held the entire time. I would top off the charge for a few minutes here and there. Monday my watch was fully charged, Tuesday morning the battery was at 10%. Charged it to 100%. Woke up for an am run on Wednesday and may watch is down to 20% already. I love this watch, I don't know what happened but I'm super disappointed that something so costly is already being defective.

I wanted to upgrade my Garmin 45s to a better running performance watch. I purchased the Garmin 55 and lets just say it was way to big for my tiny slim wrists. Not only was the watch band to big but the watch itself was to big. I couldn't make the band any tighter to keep the screen in place but it was to tight. I ended up returning the watch. I am still looking for a watch to upgrade my Garmin 45s. I want to take my running to the next level.

The Forerunner 55 is as basic as is gets. You have to go through tons of watch faces via the app, with few free available, to find one to see anything in addition to the time. To get to any of the additional benefits of having a smartwatch, you have to press 1 of 5 buttons on the side of the watch several times to scroll a menu, select, and exit, etc. Not only it this taxing, for anyone with arthritis, tactile, or motor function issues, is this majorly painful, it’s also extremely uncomfortable to sleep with it on. Thus, I just wear it during the day, look at whatever few stats are constantly on the face, and don’t take advantage of any other feature. It’s a shame, because Garmin has some great programs and options available, however, there are so few ADA devices at an affordable price point.

Although shipping took a long time, it was worth the wait. The battery on this bad boy lasts forever compared to the apple watch I have been using for a few years. I like having the body battery and other sleep metrics, too. The suggested workouts are fun, and I'm overall happy with this purchase. I look forward to testing its GPS capability more thoroughly by doing a midnight half marathon at night next month!

I have wanted to get a Garmin for a while now (former long distance runner) and while I no longer can run, I use my Garmin in everyday life to track my heart rate and manage my chronic illnesses. Hopefully one day I will be able to use the rest of the great features!

this watch has been great, battery has been lasting about 2 weeks depending on how many activities you use it for 2-3 a week and you can get 2 weeks typically. very accurate GPS I've enjoyed all the features! this watch is my first Garmin watch and I'd say it's an excellent beginners watch.

About 1 month with forerunner, replacing a Fenix 5 with charging failure. Battery life is excellent. Biking and walking are regular activities. Only complaint is the 'resume later' option is absent on forerunner. I would consider this a deficiency; absence of a required feature in any modern wearable, since no recreational user doesn't pause on some workouts.

I received this watch as a replacement for my broken Forerunner 45s not long ago. I've enjoyed the different features, even if they have taken a while to get used to. I appreciate the extended battery life and the swimming activity tracker. Overall, a fun watch to have!

After years of using Garmin (I go back to the Forerunner 205) I switched to a Coros from my Fenix 3 two years ago. I appreciated that units great battery life and small and light form. It was nice to be able to button the left cuff of my dress shirts something that was impossible with the bulk of the Fenix! I chose to return to Garmin because it's software plays better with the reporting I need. I chose to F55 because it was most like my Coros in terms of footprint. The F55 has all the features I need and the battery life is good enough now that I am retired from ultras.

I've had the Forerunner 55 for a few weeks now and have loved the simplicity of the watch and the simple syncing with the Connect IQ app. I've used the GPS watch to track numerous activities - hiking, cycling, even sailing on my Sunfish. Very pleased with the watch!
