REALLY DISAPPOINTED!!

Ι bought the watch from an e-shop a few days ago. I followed the instructions to set it up and it seemed to be fine. When I used it for running, I noticed huge discrepancies in both the mileage and pace it recorded. I used it again at the same time as an exact same watch of an acquaintance of mine which was tested to work correctly and the readings had deviations of approximately five minutes per km (!!). I really don't understand what I have to do to fix this and I am really disappointed because I spend a lot of money and I don't have a watch whitch could help me to to complete my preparation for the Athens marathon.

Awesome entry level running watch.

I purchased this watch to function both as a smart watch and track fitness. I was happily surprised at the depth of functions available. Steps, heart rate, texts, calls, and notifications work like a dream. I am a sometimes triathlete, and this watch is perfect to keep me on my training plan and record workouts. Biking, running, and swimming all function great on this watch...although the swim distances are a little off.

It works!

The price is what made me decide on the forerunner 55. That being said, of course the more economical option does not have as many features. The screen is definitely the biggest downside. Lacks many colors and the display is not nearly as pretty as the more expensive ones. I am happy that it all the trackers work though.

Love It!!

I don’t adapt easily. I’ve had my forerunner 25 for 6 years and was very hesitant to change. But with my old watch getting more and more glitchy, I upgraded. It was like going from a rotary phone to the newest cell. At first, for like an hour, I was overwhelmed with all the features. I like easy. But by the next morning I was getting the hang of it, and every day after that I was like a kid in a candy store - look at this, that is cool, it can do that too?!? Again, I’m pretty non-tech savvy, but the buttons are easy to navigate, scheduling specific runs is super simple, and for a watch with amazing features nothing is tricky to figure out. Plus the battery life is fantastic! There’s nothing I don’t love about this watch. I couldn't be happier with my much needed upgrade!!

Not a good watch for me

Hello, I was hoping to find a suitable replacement for my Forerunner 35. The 55 has too many features for my needs and the screen is very difficult to read especially late in the day. I tried to work with the watch and became very frustrated as I wanted the time face and the watch continued to move me to the stop watch, I would try to click out of the stop watch and it would return and would not take me back to just seeing the time. Do you still have any Forerunner 35's or a similar simple watch without many features.

Outstanding

Is doing EVERYTHING that i wanted it to do. I love how it works with the app and how accurately it can track my run. I do wish that it was easier to see and illuminated more on the watch face, or if the watch face could be a little bigger. That really helps us runners with poor eyesight.

not easy to use

I bought the watch 2 weeks ago and I am still struggling to learn how to use it. The watch controls and options are not easy or intuitive to use. the downloaded manual isn't that helpful. Maybe all Garmins are like this now. My old Forerunner was so easy to use. I want distance, pace, time, and HR one one screen, seems impossible. Also some things are hard to read being so small

band keeper should have knobs on both sides

I just like to point out that the band keeper has this knob to keep the excess band from flapping. I wish the next product improvement would consider adding 2 knobs to hold the band even more. I have small wrist and the band still flaps. Thank you Garmin.

total crap

weird logic, terrible connectivity to phone, menus stink. If i had the original packaging i would return it. Limited watch faces. They need to stick to GPS and marine navigation and forget the smart watch business. Apple and Samsung are making you look like fools.

Walk features

I upgraded from the Forerunner 45 which I liked very much. I would to have more introduction on the walking features since I am not a runner. I am more of a speed walker and find the watch useful for my three plus miles, six days a week. I am trying to upload the Speed Walker activity to my options.
