We bought this for our 7 y/o son. My son was able to build the robot mostly by himself. The instructions could be a little more clear. All 3 of my kids (age 19 mo. to 7 years) love the marble track. It is a good starter kit if your kid has been building legos (or similar) for a long time, by themselves. We even bought a second set (months) later for another family member and can't wait to give it to them.

This says 6 plus I agree if that is with adult help. It is challenging but exciting. It takes about 1 hour each to get them together so just ensure you have the time.

My son is 8 and needed adult help throughout the entire build. We had fun building together so 5 stars for that!

I purchased this for my 5 year old, to challenged for him, but we did it together, it was fun to build it and he loves it.
