I have eaten Ragu Traditional sauce for years. Bought 1 jar with the new recipe and NEVER again. I hate olive oil. Chef Robert Irvine does not even use it because it changes the flavor of your food. I agree with him! I will not buy this brand at all again! You ruined a perfect thing! This sauce tastes greasy and oily. I had to throw it out. Very upsetting as I used to eat this regularly. Has horrible after taste. I unliked your Facebook page too.

I have been a customer for YEARS. Until the recipe changed, I went through at least one or two of these each week, buying them in bulk. When you added small chunks of tomatoes to the recipe a number of years ago, I dealt with the change - it wasn't significant enough to effect the taste. The new recipe is disgusting. You should change the name; it is not the same product - it tastes completely different. The olive oil completely hides the taste - it tastes horrible. You lost my business. Now I have to find a different product from another company.

I was going to make spaghetti and I have this type of sauce, Old World Style, Traditional, now with olive oil. They were out of my favorite which is with onion and garlic. It's going in the garbage. I see it barely gets over 3 stars. I know why. I wont even cook noodles because I'm not wasting more money or time. I even tried adding parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. It's just not good.

Ragu spaghetti sauces have been the only brand of spaghetti sauce our family has used for the better part of 40 years. Over the last few months, our entire family has commented that something does not seem right with the flavor and body of the meals prepared with Ragu. The flavors are not as deep and the eating dishes appear to have more liquid left. I finally did a general internet search to see if it was just our family who was noticing this. Guess what Ragu, we aren't the only ones. Looks like you have changed something and it has a lot of your customers upset. Our family have made the decision this evening to no longer purchase Ragu products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved this pasta sauce! It was so tasty. I feel it was a little zesty-ier than the traditional pasta sauce we bought but in a good way! It definitely changed up traditional pasta and we will for sure be buying this again!

As I was picking up the jar of Ragu off the store shelf I noticed the label saying "Improved Recipe". That always makes me nervous when I see that on items I have been loyal to for years. After bringing the jar home and trying it I wished I would have left it on the shelf. I also wished I would have pulled out my phone at the store and read the online reviews before buying it. I used it in a recipe I have made for years and it was awful. I have eaten this sauce my entire life- it was so close to my Italian grandmother's recipe. Will not be buying it again. I cannot understand why companies try to fix what is not broken- good way to lose lifelong loyal customers.

I opened a big jar, poured it into my meat and tasted it like I always do. It tasted horrible. I then smelled it, and as another reviewer said, I immediately thought the sauce was bad. I checked the date on the jar to see that it wasn't. Had another family member smell it, and they agreed it smelled like it was bad. Had I not poured the whole jar into 2 lbs. of meat that I needed to make lasagna, I would've tossed it all in the trash. Will not buy this new recipe again.

This is the smarter buy than the three 45 oz jars of Ragu - when you get in store, compare the OUNCES - they won't give you the ounces on this bottle because it is ridiculously cheaper per ounce for the exact same spaghetti sauce from Ragu. BUT - how to use it before it goes *bad*. FREEZE IT. That's right - when you open it, take out what you need - portion the rest into ziploc containers that match your average sauce portioning. We line the container with saran wrap, pour the sauce in - freeze the sauce - then REMOVE the sauce from the container, peel the Saran wrap off, and seal with our food saver. It takes minutes to defrost before use. If you don't have a food saver, put it in a freezer ziploc bag - it will easily keep 6 months in the freezer. With the foodsaver we've used sauce frozen for 10 months and no one could discern a difference. (How long do you think pizza sauce and other tomato based pasta sauces are frozen in those pizzas and meals in the store? I know for a fact that on average, it's been sitting in a freezer 6 months and up to a year or longer before you ever eat it ... I worked for a frozen food manufacturer - it isn't a special sauce and there is NOTHING special we did to the sauce before freezing it.) We do this with the pizza sauce in the can as well (one well of a muffin tin equals about what we put on a pizza) - also the sausage gravy and many other things. This takes only minutes, and yet you save several dollars each time. It's worth it. If you think three minutes of pouring sauce to be frozen is too much work, then you shouldn't complain about wasting money. Time is money. You spend one or the other. Take your choice.

The sauce taste great with any Pasad dish noodles and or ravioli. I also like that it contains 40% of your daily vegetables!
