The ice cream came ice frozen, like it was let to melt and then re-frozen. I was not happy at all.

Classic vanilla, look at the ingredients! No preservatives, no guar gum other other junk. Pure, creamy, deliciousness. It's been my favorite forever and continues to be. Add nuts, chocolate syrup, or other things you like if you want to customize, or it's simply fine as it is. Highly recommended!

I too am disappointed with the new Vanilla flavor. I have bought the ice cream at numerous stores thinking maybe I got a bad batch, or the freezers at these stores froze it too much, or any other reason I could think of that wasn't that Haagen Daaz changed their perfect vanilla ice cream. This is the only ice cream I would buy and have a hard time not finishing the entire pint in one sitting.. Now the same pint of vanilla ice cream has been sitting in my freezer for the last week only because I don't want to throw it away and waste it. I never write reviews, but I feel pretty strongly about this that I no longer have a favorite ice cream that has with me since I was a child. Hopefully Haagen Daaz listen s to their consumers again and changes it back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream expecting it to be rich, smooth and creamy but boy was I disappointed. It was the complete opposite, grainy and icey. It tasted like very cheap ice milk. I will not purchase it again. There are other options available that taste so much better and cost a lot less.

I picked up the half gallon size knowing that I could not go wrong with the purchase and not wanting cheap out on a birthday treat. Well at least the kids didn't know better. I may as well have picked up any other vanilla as this had the same flavor profile as a store brand or other national brand's vanilla. There was something missing to the lusciousness of taste and mouth feel that I remember. Big disappointment for me.

Why would you change what was perfect? Specifically for we ice cream snobs who would ONLY eat your vanilla because literally every other brand failed in comparison. Congrats on making your untouchable product taste the same as all of the other store brands I would never be willing to eat... if that's what you were going for, you sadly succeeded.

I do miss the black cherry Amaretto gelato you got rid of a couple years ago. But I still look for your ice cream first. I'm in Texas, and I will risk telling people that H-D is better than Blue Bell.
