Very Disappointed

First off, the TV had a 6" scratch in the screen. It was not very noticeable when the TV was on but that was not the worst part. The picture was terrible. We spent several hours adjusting all of the settings and never ever got it look near as good as the 9 YEAR OLD(!) 48" M Series 6900 Samsung that I was replacing it with. We ended up hooking up the Samsung next to this one to compare. There was no comparison. The Samsung clarity, contrast, and detail was FAR superior and it is 9 YEARS OLD. I will NEVER buy a Vizio again.

Can't beat the price

For the price, you can't beat this. The hook up was relatively easy, even though we have a lot of external gadgets. As other reviewers had said, the volume isn't the best but hook it up to a sound bar or speakers and it is just fine. The picture is good as well.

The color is just as advertised!

We bought this tv about a month ago and love it! The only issue we've had with it is that when watching something, the fast motion of objects was a bit pixelated at first. But after adjusting some settings it was mostly resolved! Overall I would highly recommend this tv to anyone looking for high quality for a reasonable price!!

Excellent TV!

For the price this is an excellent TV. The clarity and picture are great! It was between this model and a Vizio without the 4K UHD Quantum. This one had a better picture by-far! I have two LG televisions and this Vizio surpasses both of them (though they are about 1 year old). This is a good investment.

Easy to navigate

Best Vizio TV I've had, I know there are other Vizio TVS out now but hands down I got this last year and it's amazing and perfect clarity! I'd buy more for every room if I already didn't have them set up with Vizio already!! There is no other TV that I'd prefer!

Not so smart, and ARC has serious issues

I bought the Vizio M658-G1 TV on August 3, 2019. The Vizio M658-G1 TV could be a great TV, but it has the following issues: The ARC interface to my Yamaha ATS-1080 sound bar mostly does not work. I expect that the TV has a problem detecting the sound bar, but is could also be the sound bar does not handshaking properly. When both are configured to use the ARC HDMI for sound and control, the TV remote turns on/off the TV and ATS-1080. After they are on I get sound but the TV remote will not control the volume/mute and the volume slider does not state “Audio System”. When looking at the TV CEC menu, the Vizio has not discovered the ATS-1080 as no ARC device is detected. If I click on Device Discovery, it discovers the ATS-1080, but it still does not work correctly. If I manually turn off the ATS-1080 and then back on, it is detected and its volume is now controlled by the TV remote. The reason I suspect the TV is that I can fix the problem by setting the TV to ECO mode. Doing so fixes the sound bar startup issue, but it takes a long time for everything to come on, which may be what fixes the issue. In ECO mode, there is another problem. The Android app cannot turn on the TV in ECO mode when the TV is using Wi-Fi…only the TV remote can turn it on. I suspect that the Wi-Fi is off until the TV is on. If I use an Ethernet hardwired connection, the Android app can turn on the TV in both ECO and Quick-Start modes. When everything is “working” together, there is a 1-2 second delay when changing the volume and mute on/off. The Vizio built-in apps are too slow and cumbersome to use. It is very hard to navigate within the Vizio apps using the TV remote control. The Android remote app at least gives a keyboard, but no navigation keys. I have connected an HDMI computer to get a reasonable response and a real keyboard/mouse for navigation. Why can't Vizio allow a wireless USB keyboard to be connected? I consider the built-in apps to be useless. It is so much more convenient to use HDMI to connect a real computer which can use a wireless USB keyboard/mouse. All these errors are probably just software, please fix them. I paid a lot for this TV, and I would like it to work. At least by not using the apps, I am not being tracked as much.

Well beyond NOT Happy!

TV Will not stay turned off at all. Within 5 to 15 seconds the TV turns back on after being turned off. The only way I can get the TV to stay off is to unplug it. I have gone through support as well as every setting possible. Even with no devices plugged in, it won't stay off. I have recommended Visio products to friends and family in the past and have several products I am happy with - this is NOT one of them. I am also appalled by the fact that once set up the only way to remove the TV from the network is a factory reset. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen; you can even disconnect your cell phone from the cell networks. This is a terrible security choice. AGAIN - the big issue TV will not stay turned off. If it weren't for the fact the TV cannot be turned off and expected to stay off, it would likely be a five star review. It has a great picture!

Great Features

We bought this TV when our TV went out. Our old TV was a basic plasma. This TV is BIG and Bright! It has numerous features including FREE internet channels. When you first turn it on and it starts up, it has a homepage look similar to Netflix, with Streaming & Movie apps to select. This TV is truly smart! We love it! WARNING: It is BIG and Bright, so if you have a small room, be prepared to light it up! It has true black and vibrant colors as advertised. It starts off a little confusing to get all the features and wifi connected, but it is not rocket science so you should figure it out without asking google. The Chromecast feature and Smartwatch button on the remote was so beneficial we actually disconnected our cable because with all the available FREE channels and movies we didn't need it. I would say there are well over 200 FREE channels and quite a few were on on our cable lineup. So we now get for free what we use to pay for! Overall a GREAT BUY for us!

TV Only Lasted 2 Years and Customer Service Stinks

I bought this TV in Sept of 2019 looking for a 4k TV that didn't break the bank. I was generally happy with it for 2 years until the LED Backlights started to fail. Obviously out of warranty, I tried to get some help from Customer Service with possible repair/fixes and was basically told to get a new TV and there was nothing they could do about it nor did they have any repair suggestions. I've been previously pretty happy with Vizio products but I will likely never by Vizio again
