Unusual Use

My husband, age 72, had extensive back surgery last week. 4 days post surgery he came home craving a shower. But the Doc said no showers for a week so the incision area doesn't get wet. Son & I decided to try Press 'n Seal over the bandaged area. With a little tape around the top edge to make certain no drips got in we put him back to the wall in the shower & used the hand sprayer carefully. It worked perfectly! He felt so much better just being clean again. We have laughed a lot about our new use!

I used to really like the product but the packaging makes it nearly impossible to use.

I thought this was a fabulous product and used to really like it. However, the last few boxes I have bought have been a disaster. The white holders do not stay in the box, so the roll will not stay in the box. It is nearly impossible to use the cutting edge to get a nice piece of the wrap that is not ripped. I wish that you would go back to the original packaging! I will probably stop buying it because it is no longer worth the extra price to get the better seal... Too bad - was a great product in the beginning.

Wonderful product

I have been using Glad Press'n Seal for the last few years. When I first started covering leftovers with it, it was a little difficult to use. It stuck together, and was awkward. In the last few months, however, I noticed some welcome changes in the product. Now it can be cut easily and is much better. Thank you for the improvements in the Press'n seal.

Great product, but the packaging!!

Love Press n Seal and use it often - like how it seals on itself and stays put. But do they use their own product? Is there a way to tear off a sheet without tearing out my hair?! I have to use a blade or scissors if I want a usable piece, but then I need a third hand.

Product seals well

I think this is a great product. It was sturdy and it did a good job sticking to itself and whatever else. Like many of those indicated here however, the cutter was horrible. There was no way to get it out of the package and cut something to the right length like regular plastic wrap. Short of using a pair of scissors, which was not particularly convenient, there was no way to get any length using the cutter bar. So while I like the product, I simply won't buy the it again because the cutter is the key to the whole experience. Too bad. Convenience however is key.

Incredible!

Two days ago while taking inventory of my freezer contents, I ran across a chicken pot pie that was tightly covered with Glad Press'n Seal and in a freezer bag. The date on the bag was March 2011--6 years ago. I thought nothing ventured, nothing gained so I let it thaw then smelled it to check for that 'freezer burn' smell. None was present so I baked the pie this evening. The pot pie tasted like I had made it today! and the crust was still flaky! My family and I were absolutely amazed. Press'n Seal is a product that I frequently rely on. I took a 3-gallon water container to the grocery store to be filled but didn't have a lid. So I covered the opening with a piece of Press'n Seal. Using the handle on the side of the container (with the opening horizontal) I carried it to my car and into the house without spilling a drop. I think Press'n Seal is an incredible product, however, sometimes there are issues with dispensing it. I've noticed that if problems occur, it is usually toward the end of the roll. This is a minor issue compared to the quality of the product performing as it is advertised.

Love this product

I hate the idea of wasting plastic, but I find in exchange for the little waste I am saving a lot of food. I am a single person, it is so hard to eat all my food before it goes bad due to large portions of veggies. This has kept my lettuce and green onions fresh for over a week. Can't wait to find more uses. Highly recommended!!

New plastic cutter edge is HORRIBLE!

I have used Press'n Seal for years and used to LOVE it. It is the only wrap product we use. I have literally had multiple conversations with various friends during which I told them that Press'n Seal is far superior to traditional plastic wrap. However, we noticed that you changed the cutter (to tear off a piece of wrap) to a flimsy plastic cutter. It's horrible! PLEASE change it to a better quality metal one. The plastic edge does not cut through the Press'n Seal, so you end up trying to force the wrap to tear, then it wrinkles and sticks to itself. AWFUL. I'm not sure if this was poorly thought out cost-savings idea or if some nut claimed that the metal edge is "too dangerous", but you have got to fix this. We will sadly no longer be using your product if it continues to have the pathetic plastic cutter.

Nice Seal and good looking

I loved the cling power. It worked very easily. I had no problem with the packaging. I find many products with similar packaging tend to come apart at the sides, so I just keep adhesive tape in my kitchen drawer to re-attach the sides and that does the trick. I got the seasonal package with a snowflake design on the wrap and that was very attractive. I would love to see other designs throughout the year.

Horrible Cutter Creates Extreme Waste

This product works extremely well if you can get it off the roll--and that is a very big IF. The design of the cutter and the box is so poor that nearly half of the material gets wasted trying to get it out. I suspect I'm wasting my time mentioning this as this has been noted as a problem for the last three years and it still isn't fixed. Such a waster of an otherwise excellent product.
