Product is Great! Dispenser is horrible!

We have been using Press'n Seal for years, but it seams like the last several rolls we have purchased have been almost impossible to cut with the "cutter" on the packaging. We are having to use scissors to cut the film or just tear it making half of what your tore off unusable. Please fix your packaging or we will have to go back to the old fashioned plastic wrap.

a Happy Accident

I actually bought this Glad Press 'n Seal, thinking it was regular Glad plastic wrap. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised that it is versatile and kept my food fresh! Now, I use it ALL the time. I can usually get about 4-5 uses from it before I recycle it.

Sticky stuff now on my plates

Love the concept of press and seal but not happy with the sticky stuff it left on myd plate. I covered a dinner plate of leftovers and when I removed the wrap the edges are tacky. Put it through the dish washer, still tacky. Hand washed in warm soapy water, still tacky. These are porcelain plates by Lenox. How do I get rid of the sticky stuck on the plate? What is this wrap made of that makes it do that?

works well packaging poor

More than a year ago I commented on the packaging and I would like to repeat my comments. The cutting strip on the Cling Wrap box was moved from the bottom part of the package to the 'lid' part. What a very poor decision. Most other products do not do this. The motion of wripping off the wrap causes it to fold over and stick to itself. It is not a natural movement. The top lid of the box has less material and by the time you get to the end of the role the box has weakened and makes it harder to tear off the wrap. CHANGE it back so the cutting edge is on the top lip of the bottom part of the container. Admit you have made a poor decision. The box is more re-inforced both by the amount of material in the bottom part plus your hand grasps and steadies the container. It is more ergonomically correct to tear the wrap in a downward motion. The motion of wripping off the wrap in a downward motion allows a cushion of air to support the wrap as you tear it and hence prevents (reduces) the folding over of the wrap onto itself. It just makes sense!! Try it...you'll like it...again.

Product change

This has been, by far, the best wrap there is. I haven't used anything else to cover my food to store it in the fridge for years now, but I will have to settle for a different product that's not so good because of the recent change to the blade. The new blade is plastic and it will not cut the wrap. I have shredded every piece I've tried to pull off. I, initially, thought it was a flaw in the particular box I bought because the entire blade pulled off, but when I replaced it, the new box had the same blade. I am really disappointed because it's such a great product but I will not be buying another box unless the original blade comes back.

My husband could take a shower after surgery!

My husband had rotator cuff surgery recently. In the post-op instructions it said, "Do not shower until after your post-op appointment." That was 6 days away! Ugh! At the re-dressing appointment, the day after the appointment, the PA told us that Press and Seal had been used successfully by patients to keep the water off of the wound. We went home and very carefully gave him a shower with the Press and Seal protecting the shoulder wound. Voila! No moisture had penetrated or "sneaked under " the wrap. He happily and carefully showered daily after that. Thank you, Press and Seal!

Nothing but good things to say!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first tried Press'n Seal at a friend's house. It never dawned on me to buy it because it seemed unnecessary--like when remote controls first came out(as if we all couldn't get up off the couch to change the channel). However, once I tried it, I was impressed--it's easy to use, especially to reposition, and stays in place. It doesn't stick to itself like some brands of regular plastic wrap, so there's no time spent peeling stuck pieces apart. I love it, and would recommend everyone try it to see for themselves. It's a few pennies more, but those pennies can be made up for by reusing it(and yes, it still works if reused).

Worst home product ever used

The roll of Press 'n Seal is a twisted mess in the box that's lost its white spindles. I can't find the end of the roll, it doesn't matter since every time I tried to use this stuff it would rip on the roll so I got smaller and smaller portions of it to use. What a terrible product! There must be an easier way to dispense the product. There must be an easier way to cut the portion you want from the roll. How is it a company as large as Glad doesn't realize this product is flawed. Doesn't anyone else criticize it? This product also wasn't inexpensive. It cost a lot more than plastic wrap. But I'm here to say, I'm going back to common plastic wrap. I can't think of any worse way to ruin my time in the kitchen than being frustrated by how this product is a useless mess.

Cutting is a problem

The wrap is exceptional, and I love it. BUT, the cutter is terrible. It is impossible for me to get a clean cut, and I therefore end up with a mess. You have got to design a cutter that is easy to use, but makes a clean cut, so that I can get a decent sheet of wrap that hasn't stuck to itself. That's when the Griptex works too well If I can get a clean sheet of wrap, I think it's the greatest invention!

If you want a product that don't work buy this one!

I don't know who you are paying to write these reviews of the Press and Seal Glad wrap but you are sure getting a lot for the money spent. This is the absolutely W-0-R-S-T product i have ever bought!!! It is apparently mad for people who do not cook and cover food. I purchased this product based upon the good name of glad wraps - obviously that name means nothing to the Corp.!!
