I definitely will buy this tire again.

The tire is performing beyond my expectations. The ride and handling  of my 2015 Fiat Abarth has improved significantly over the Continental tires I replaced .  I am going to use the G-Max AS 05 tire on my new project car, a 2007 Mini Cooper S convertible, replacing the Michelin run flats.

Very good traction

I bought these tires about 3 months ago for my 03 mustang. So far have been very pleased. Good traction dry and wet pavement. Really hoping they keep the traction their whole life, unlike some other brands. Have had issues with other brands rubber compound getting harder as the tires wear down, causing lose of wet traction.

Outstanding tire for 2000 Mercedes C280 Sport

I have a performance model Mercedes Benz C280 Sport and it requires tires that match the performance. This tire was specifically mentioned for my car. I narrowed it down between the General G-Max AS-05 and another recommended for car, made by Michelin. I did a lot of homework. I am familiar with Michelin and have been sold on them for years, but I was intrigued to try the AS-05 after reading a ton of material on it as well as having a positive experience with another set of Generals I had bought the year before. I am very, very happy with my decision and these tires perform! They ran less per tire than the Michelin, but Michelin loves their price premiums. This tires is well designed, runs quiet, and sticks to the road. I could not be happier. I recently recommended them to friends with a pristine 1998 BMW M3 and they are ecstatic with the performance. I am now a total believer in General Tires and will be buying from them in future.

Excellent in the wet and great looks

I replaced the factory tires on my 2005 Crossfire Roadster with these about 20,000 miles ago and although I have mixed feelings about the tires, am doing the rears again.  The Good: They are GREAT in the rain—those big grooves shift a lot of water. They also stick well in the dry making the twisty roads loads of fun. They look good from all angles. They are affordable. The Bad. They are LOUD. You won't be sneaking up on anyone at highway speed because they sing like a set of mudders on a 4x4. The other downside is not getting anywhere close to the 50,000 miles touted in the tread life warranty.

Will be buying again

This is a great tire.  I have these tires on my Lexus and am satisfied after I just went through a set of Continental S-04 Pole Positions in 14,000 miles.  These are a great all around tire and definitely stand up against Continental, Goodyear, and other mega names.  Well done General.

Generally, great job!

This is the second set of G-Max AS-05s and happier than ever with the grip, wear and ride of this set. With the addition of adjustable upper control arms to mellow out the factory negative 5° camber on the rear end of the Focus these babies are wearing smoothly and evenly well into the 30k mark, unlike the first set that due to the aggressive camber were feathered and near replacing. So, good job General and Paul at Kanrock for tuning in the Focus's suspension!

Ready Again.....

I am now a three-time owner of General tires...all placed on my 2008 Chevrolet Impala currently with 172K. For reasons unknown, General has had a dark cloud over their name. I work in the auto repair business and that feeling seemed to be synonymous with the General name. Although I was able to stretch the OEM Goodyear's to close to 60K, I knew they would not be the replacement tire of choice after my experiences past the 20K mark. When looking for the Goodyear replacements, I read some customer reviews about the General line with some surprisingly positive results. With cost in mind and the high customer reviews, I want ""against the grain"" and bought my first set of Generals. I wore them to another 125K and bought another set of the same just as they were being phased-out. Well, I wore them out too and knowing my current tires were discontinued, I turn to the General catalog again and found the GMax A-05s.... Well, I wore these A-05s down to about 80% and I am checking here in the General catalog to see is these are still being made because I have a flat tire. One of my tires has a piece of metal in it that is too large to repair. The tires have been rotated a few times so I am unsure if this is a newly developed puncture or the piece of implanted metal that has finally desired to made itself known. What ever it may be a General replacement tire will be used and a few more to compete my new set. I plan to surpass the 200K mark and I feel confident my Generals will take me there.

quick and tight

these tires sticks and are therefore are very good in cornering in wet or dry surfaces, we don't have snow so i can't comment on that and surprisingly comfortable.  thread life seems ok too but can't firmly say that since i drove less since covid started.  overall i feel safe and like a rockstar with these tires, go get them.

Review

I purchased the first set and had to have them all replaced because they were defective. The second set that were replaced by supplier has a defective tire but since they ""road force"" tested these I cannot get the 2 that are bad replaced. I don't think I'll be buying general tires again .
