I have found that the tap water in Santa Ana is hard enough that just filtering the water from the tap was still not enough to make the water taste good enough. Still has a chemical taste. I did find that if I filtered the water from the tap and then filtered it again into a PUR water pitcher (effetively double filtering the water) it tastes as good as any bottle water I have tried, and saves me some money and uses a whole lot less plastic.

It's easy enough for her to use and get herself a glass. I love the light feature that tells you when the filter needs to be replaced too.

I personally have no way to tell if these filters meet their specifications. They seem to do the job and the water is always clear, clean and with no added odors. The faucet mount that the filter installs into is somewhat cheap. I am constantly fiddling with the selector switch in order to use in the filtered or non filtered mode.
