I make this amazing sausage gravy and biscuits on Sunday mornings for breakfast, and after using this sausage, we will never go back to the old one. My family devoured Sunday morning breakfast like never before. I highly recommend the sausage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smithfield Hometown Original Fresh Sausage Roll was a great accompaniment to an omelette. It was easy to prepare and both myself and family enjoyed the delicious taste of fresh sausage that was filling and satisfying.

In a recent absence of my regular Jimmy Dean sausage I gave Smithfield a try. It was unimpressive. The unfamiliar spice package and low fat ratio produced a cooked product that was rubbery and bland. Additionally,though the use/freeze by date was a good 2weeks away, the there was an off odor that had a hint of sulfuric that . I have found the Smithfield brand to be consistently high quality but find this offering to be lacking. I'm embarrassed for Smithfield for this attempt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smithfield makes a good breakfast product, in my opinion. This sausage roll worked well in my breakfast taco recipe- just cheese potatoes and sausage so the sausage is pretty important. if it doesn't taste good you can tell right away. very good.

I used this sausage instead of the Jimmy dean I normally use (due to pricing) for sausage balls and sausage dip. They both came out great. I will keep buying this product. For those who say it's bland just add some seasoning to it, it's not hard to do.

I have tried this sausage twice and have been disappointed twice. To me it has a strong smell that is very off putting. And just to be clear it was fresh from Sam's Club. It also is not the same quality ot texture as other breakfast sausages I have tried. I might have to pay more elsewhere but that's okay.

They had a great taste and the seasoning was perfect. I like that I can this product is versatile and I can use it for any meal, and it will taste great!

This is the second time I bought 8 lbs of the Smithfield sausage only to get home, cut it open and found it had a foul smell. I would advise having the meat department cut into it to see if it smells ok, before you take it home. 45 minute round trip for me to take it back. Bummer.

Worst sausage we've gotten at Sam's. The only thing in its favor is it's taste. After cooking the amount of fat in the skillet was 3 times what cooked out of Jimmy Deans. In addition the high water content caused it to splatter grease everywhere. The final patties were less than half of what they started out as.
