VenuS3

I've had this watch for about a month and switched from an Apple watch. This watch while claims to have really great features. have a hard time tracking my workouts and steps. The workout setting was the main reason I purchased this watch and does not do what it was described it can do. Battery does die more quickly than advertised and is slightly harder to navigate than Apple. If your thinking about making the switch I would personally not if your main purpose for this watch is the workout tracking capabilities. It is a visually appealing watch and not too bulky.

Only one drawback......

I would totally give this watch a 5, except for one thing. When answering calls, I can barely hear the call. I've checked the settings several times and literally have it up as far as it will go. I just shout that I'll call them back later on my phone. Other than that,. I love all the features. The watch is stylish and keeps an accurate record of my hikes on the trails. The battery life is better than expected. I'm very pleased with the watch overall.

Disappointed

I bought this watch because I’ve heard great things about Garmins and the watch itself is absolutely adorable. I wanted a smart watch that was also cute. I didn’t like how harsh and loud the notification was on the watch compared to Apple Watch. I also didn’t like that I couldn’t respond to messages on the watch . In addition, when I got phone calls it would show the number of who is calling but not say the name, even if they were in my contacts. One day at 7 pm after wearing my watch all day I checked my steps and it said I only had 61 steps. I got up and walked around for a bit and checked again and it never registered those steps. What I did like about it was how cute it was, that the battery lasted for a week, and it felt comfortable on my wrist. Unfortunately, it is not worth the money and I am in the process of returning.

Garmin for life

Made the switch from an Apple Watch to garmin, and I'll never look back. My only complaint is the Bluetooth range is pretty poor. I can be in my house upstairs and my home downstairs and the watch will notify me that is no longer connected to my phone. That is my only complaint. Easy to use. Great design. So many stats to track; sleep, workouts, recovery. Very long lasting battery life.

Venu 3S - Not what it was hyped to be

For the price of this watch it is decent but not great. I was super excited about the ability to use it with my phone but honestly I am not impressed. The watch face is very cheap looking and the options are lacking compared to the Forerunners I have. The phone keeps trying transferring to the watch even when I told it to connect to iPhone. This is not cool when I need to keep conversations private. I have to keep transferring it back to my phone. Huge disappointment. Trying to scroll through the screens is horrible. There is a huge lag and often times I have to swipe 5 or 6 times to get it to go to the next screen. I was told to just update the watch. Then I was told that I needed to update it through garmin express because the update might just be hung up. I have done everything I was told and it still lags. My forerunners don’t have this issue at all so I’m super frustrated.

Mixed bag

I bought my Garmin Venu 3s to replace a Fitbit that I had become frustrated with. There are things I like and things that I don’t like because they don’t make sense or are not useful to me. The watch synchs flawlessly (so far) with the app—that’s great. There’s lots of good information to dig into and use for fitness/heath improvement. The bad: Sleep scores do not take individual sleep needs into account. I have never slept more than 7 hours in my entire life, but Garmin arbitrarily decided I need 8 hours 40 minutes sleep and consistently downgrades my sleep score and tells me I slept poorly, despite excellent ratings for deep, light and REM sleep, along with waking up feeling refreshed and energetic after 6.5-7 hours. I practice good sleep hygiene and already engage in all the recommendations to “improve” my sleep quality. On fitbit with similar metrics, I consistently earned scores in the high 80s and low 90s. My Venu scores are in the mid 60s to low 70s with ratings of poor or fair. Despite claiming to track multiple types of exercise, tracking for yoga, strength training or barre classes is useless, because you have to hit start and stop after each pose, set or exercise and enter what you did, which disrupts the flow of your workout. It is only useful for tracking cardio. It is unclear what metrics it uses to determine your “stress” level, as it indicates high stress at times when I am calm, peaceful and relaxed. I have not decided if it is a good fit for me. Overall the Fitbit charge model seems like the better product.

Looks great, does the job!

Great watch with tons of cool features. My favorite pros: battery lasts a week or more, classy round screen, tons and tons of activity modes plus the option to create your own, lots of great sleep details, ECG app and fall detection with emergency calls. My least favorite cons: random reminders to move (unable to set up reminders at preferred times), must be within a few feet of phone in order to use Bluetooth, no reminders for updates, and not as user friendly as apple products (though it’s very refreshing to break away from apple empire).

Lots of health data

I've had the watch about 3 weeks. I love the watch -- big improvement over my past fitbit watches. I'm happy garmin offered the 3S as I have a small wrist. I'm still learning the watch and get confused on how to interpret some of the data but that will come with more use. I'm not happy with the strength workout setting. I like to put the app on and go, not have to keep interfacing to tell it reps are complete. Otherwise no big issues. Battery life is better than expected so far.

good, but....

The Venu works great. I bought it to get the ECG feature. I like that and the other data I'm getting. The watch also works great for tracking most of the info I want related to my running workouts. However, I didn't realize that it doesn't give me all of the data that I was getting on my Forerunner. I no longer have info on the primary benefit of the run (threshold, base, etc.), and I no long have my training status. It would be really nice if Garmin could put the heart data and the running data on one watch, because I don't think any of the current offerings give me everything I want in one package.

Very versatile, long battery life

I've had this watch for about a month and am still exploring the features. The basics of fitness tracking are the most useful and easily accessed as planned. The numerous additional features are being learned of bit by bit. The depth of versatility will continue to be explored for some time.
