This was extremely hard to decorate. The icing just didn't want to come out to use. I will not ever buy this again.

Bought for 4yr old to do. Never got to open. Hopefully its as good as it looks for the price.

Worth the money

This is THE kit to use - and we've used a lot of kits over the years. I will never again purchase an unassembled kit. This one held together beautifully, no roof wiggles! And such a time saver, more time to decorate! The four different colored frostings (with frosting bags and tips!) were more than adequate, and for the first time we had plenty of candy (with lots of variety). The included gingerbread tree and 2 gingerbread man cookies were such a bonus (and yummy to eat without needing to pick off the house itself). High quality product for a value price.

Really happy I did this. I wanted to do it for years and years kind of like they do on the Hallmark Christmas movies but I could never find that. When I came across this, I knew I had to do it. I love that it was so strong, and pre-assembled. All I had to do was decorate. I did find the whole icing thing a challenge because I've never used icing or really done any baking. But I figured it out and it turned out really good. Highly recommend this set.

Came with only three out of four icing packets, one of which had a hole in it and was dried out. Icing that did come eith the kit has the texture of polymer clay and is more sculptable than pipeable, unless warmed in the microwave, then it dries out insanely fast. Had to make my own royal icing to finish decorating the kit, which is the route I'd recommend in general. Next year, I'll just go DIY.

I have avoided gingerbread houses for as long as I can remember because I am not good with crafts and just had no desire to even try to assemble one. My 4 year old has been BEGGING to do a gingerbread house and I stumbled upon this! The house is perfect. Very sturdy. The icing and candy that comes with the package was perfect for her to go crazy with decorating. She worked on it for several hours. Bonus: there were a few gingerbread cookies and a Christmas tree for the younger siblings to decorate as well. The taste isn't amazing, but I have nothing to compare it to. I tried a bit of one of the cookies and it tasted like spiced cardboard, but we bought this to decorate, not to eat.
