Used to be great, now awful

I have been eating these for as long as I can remember. I'm not even vegetarian, but I've always been obsessed with breakfast patties. Imagine my horror when I opened my newest bag, heated them up, and experienced the mushy, yucky mess. My husband is vegan so I respect what you're trying to do, but please label these as a new product and bring back the old recipe. I'm so sad!

Look at all these INCENTIVIZED reviews

Hmm instead of listening to honest reviews by old faithful customers, the decision was to artificially raise the review rating? What good will that do? Your previous consistent customer base is not going to be suddenly convinced these really do taste good because the paid reviewers say so. New customers may be fooled… once. Why not offer both products and solve this problem for all?

Yuck - Lost another customer ;-(

We've been eating these for 10+ years and the last box we purchased, I thought something was wrong with that product run. I returned it (Costco) and purchased another -- same issue. Weird perfume-y taste, texture is slimey/pasty - it's really distasteful and not like sausage at all. Would've returned those too but we threw away the box so into the trash they went (inedible IMO.) Anyway, see now that MSF changed the formula. Very sad to see that -- these were a daily staple in our house and we miss them. Hopefully they will bring the old non-vegan formula back. For others who feel similarly, has anyone tried Impossible Foods sausage patty (also vegan)? Seems to be getting good reviews.

What Happened?!

I've been eating these my entire life and I've always loved them. This new recipe is terrible. Mushy texture and a very flat taste. And when I heated them in the microwave, they produced a fair amount of oil, which is not something I'd experienced with the old recipe. Back to the drawing board morningstar.

Piling on the new recipe hate

A few months ago I bought some of the "original" sausage patties and thought I'd just gotten an off batch. I hated it enough that I waited a couple of months to re-buy in hopes that the bad inventory would get worked through and I could get a good batch. But the sausages I bought yesterday were gross too. Softer with a strange, sharp off-taste. Now I learn that it's not a manufacturing error, but an intentional recipe change. I've eaten this product for well over a decade. It WAS a perfect product. Now it is gross. Morningstar has lost my business until they return to the old recipe. And they better make it clear that they have fixed the problem though advertising & packaging, because I won't touch this stuff until I know it's better again.

New sausages in old packaging

I've been buying these sausage patties for over 10+ years. Just gor some this week and noticed and tasted a difference right away, not a good difference! These are too sweet, texture is mushy and no sausage like flavor. Basically, they are terrible!! I understand you changing them to vegan but they are terrible! I wish you would have labeled them differently. Also, I'm hoping you would bring back the other patties! I will not be purchasing until then!

Bring back the old recipe

These used to be a staple in my freezer. The new recipe's flavor is lacking and the texture is worse. I loved the old ones and have been buying for 20 years. So sad I will not be buying these anymore. Same issue with the new Chick'n Nuggets, I won't be buying anymore.

new recipe is absolutely terrible

I've been eating these for 20 years--as a vegetarian, they were my favorite, go-to veggie sausage--and the new recipe is just horrible. completely different from what they were before. I'm honestly devastated. I understand wanting to create a vegan recipe, but why not offer both vegetarian and vegan options? I'm crushed that this veggie sausage, a food that has been a staple in my life for so long, is now gone, and I will have to look for new brands to try due to the new recipe. PLEASE bring the old recipe back. it is far superior to the new offering. I know I'm not alone in this opinion.

Recipe Change

I am a market research professional and there is no way you test tasted and performed focus groups on the new taste of these sausage patties. The new recipe is horrible. Did you add lemon or lime?? They no longer taste like sausage and are mushy on the inside. You just lost over 15 years of business. Read these reviews. I am not the only one complaining. Did the pandemic impact your ingredient supply?

New patties are horrible

I have been buying Morningstar patties for years. And have always loved them. A few weeks ago, the batch tasted funny - and after I checked the label, it appears that you have removed the milk/egg. Vegan products are actually ok for me, but they, like all food, need to taste good. These new patties are terrible and I hope you consider redoing the recipe or abandoning ship to go back to the old, time-tested product.
