I see I'm not alone in not liking the new recipe for the sausage patties! I have eaten these years to satisfy my craving for a sausage mcmuffin. I actually came to like my own version much better and stopped eating any fast food at all. However, this round of patties is smaller, mushier and doesn't have the sausage flavor I love. I know you mentioned clean label initiative but does that mean flavorless initiative too? So sorry Vegan friends but I guess making these Vegan means making them have no flavor or texture. YUCK!

Unfortunately, we have been so disappointed that Morning Star has changed the recipe of these patties. We have grown up on these and ate them often, but now my kids won't touch them. I hope they consider the reviews of many and give an option for the original recipe. We will not be purchasing any more unless they change it back. We would even purchase the food service size box of these from our health store.

After almost four years of limited food selections, I was happy to find these breakfast patties again. Unfortunately, our suspicions-- after being mortified at the mushy texture and lack of texture-- were confirmed after some online sleuthing: They're now VEGAN. These things aren't even worth one star. When 39% of reviews are poor-fair, competing companies should be sending flowers to MF. And the bold "ORIGINAL" on the label? "There oughta be a law." Company honchos should tap into social media. How ironic that In their zeal to cater to vegans' draconian standards, they're losing vegetarians, flexitarians, and meat-eaters.

They changed the recipe and we can barely tolerate the texture and flavor. You've lost a customer of 20+ years who would buy them in bulk as we consumed a minimum of 4 sausages per day. Shame, shame SHAME! Awful!!!!! PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL RECIPE!

These were disappointingly mislabeled. The recipe changed to possibly include either trumpet mushrooms, oyster mushrooms & an additional spice (possibly coriander, all spice, star anise, or cardamom) that threw everything off balance. There was an unpleasant, slightly sweet aftertaste as well. Might be good for a demographic that eats seafood & is trying to decrease purine intake while still consuming enough protein. But honestly, this tastes like a recipe that makes people inherently dislike vegan, or vegetarian options. If other ingredients were added to enhance the seafood flavors, it might make a good substitute for fishcakes that are inundated with saturated fat & cholesterol. Might work if the additional spice was removed, more oyster mushrooms were added, along with some shiitake mushrooms & kombu. This did NOT taste like the original recipe, which tasted like it was considerately made for American palates in an attempt to substitute unhealthy fast food with healthy options. Please discontinue this & bring the old recipe back, or change the recipe to have it be appealing to a larger Asian American demographic because if certain substitutions were made to the recipe, this would be convenient to have in a fresh Vietnamese summer roll, or Filipino style lumpia ng sariwa.

I've been buying these sausage patties for over 10+ years. Just gor some this week and noticed and tasted a difference right away, not a good difference! These are too sweet, texture is mushy and no sausage like flavor. Basically, they are terrible!! I understand you changing them to vegan but they are terrible! I wish you would have labeled them differently. Also, I'm hoping you would bring back the other patties! I will not be purchasing until then!

Just tried the new vegan recipe and miss the vegetarian recipe I've loved for years. Morningstar has been my go to for vegetarian options ever since they came on the market. I have always eaten a variety of your products but am disappointed in the new sausage patty taste.

We used to absolutely love these patties (maple being the favorite). We'd put them in everything — breakfast sandwiches, chopped up on top of pizza, in breakfast bowls, whatever — they were always great tasting. This new recipe does not hold up. I thought that I was cooking the patties incorrectly. Then i thought that I had gotten a bad batch so i opened another pack (I bought three the other day), same result. I came here and noticed that the recipe is now vegan. Y'all need to redo this or at least offer a non-vegan version. We need the original formula back. Actually, this new one tastes like the first veggie sausage i had in 1998. This is a regression. I don't know how it left the test kitchen

I have purchase your veggie patties for the past 13 years to eat every single morning. I am SO disappointed in the taste and texture change. My 7 year old nephew spends the night once a month and he even noticed it (unprompted) when I made him breakfast. Please, please, please change them back! I won't be buying these for everyday use anymore if you keep the new taste. So sad….

I have been eating MorningStar Farms my entire life and I am so disappointed in what appears to be a change to the “original” sausage patty recipe. At first, I thought that maybe I had a bad package. But after buying another one, I realized that the recipe has changed. The flavor is totally different and so is the consistency which is now kind of mushy. On a related note, the grillers also underwent a change a few years ago and I stopped buying them for the same reason. MorningStar Farms, if you are reading this, please go back to the original recipes that we were all raised on! Sadly, I won't be purchasing the sausage parties anymore - please don't change the sausage links or strips!!!
