Hello I understand that you changed the recipe to make it vegan friendly but why not make two different ones. They used to be go good with great flavor and my son ,who is a picky eater ,would devour them. Now he won't even request it anymore and I don't blame him. please bring back the old recipe for those who don't mind it with milk and egg. Why not make the vegan and non vegan one?

We usually buy the large boxes of this product from a member warehouse store. Yesterday, we find they no longer carry the product (32 oz box) so we bought the 8oz bag from local store. Tried it this morning and realize why the membership store stopped carrying it. Man, what happened? After reading the review (we no longer had the original box in the house) I understand you have altered ingredients and target market. Sadly, the product is no longer a viable substitute for classic meat morning sausage. And, sadly, now I wonder about the other Morning Star Farms products that we often purchase. Will be checking the ingredient list before purchasing. If it claims to be Vegan, it is not a product for us. Already missing the morning substitute sausage. Hoping the firm realizes the error they made and restores the product to it's original formula. (note: as other comments have mentioned...what is the chunks of pale something in the current sausages? odd. Tastes odd, Odd texture. Most off-putting.

The new recipe makes these sausage taste like bread. They are soft and much less flavorful. I think they did us wrong by changing the recipe. Why do companies always want to change their products that actually taste great - turning them into mushy flavorless blobs. So disappointed. My store finally carried then (I had moved years back and unable to get them) I bought 2 bags. They are disgusting. Just disgusting. If you liked their taste before you will hate these. Don't buy!!!

I have been eating Morningstar sausage patties for decades and recently noticed a drastic change in their taste and texture. I thought that surely I had just gotten a bad bag but after the second bag tasted the same I knew that something had changed. Please bring back the old recipe as an additional option! As someone who isn't necessarily a vegetarian but likes to eat healthy, these have been a staple in my diet for years. I hate that I'm going to have to try to find an alternative.

I am so glad I came here to read the reviews and found out they had indeed changed the formula of these things. The new ones are nasty as hell. They don't taste right and the texture is slimy, somehow even after being pan fried. I grew up eating these as a kid in the 90s, almost 30 years now, and typically have them a couple times a week for breakfast. I had to sample multiple packages as I too thought I got a bad batch or something. Sadly I also am sitting on a nice frozen stockpile of bulk packs from BJs that I'll need to get rid of…. And it's not a cheap product either! Make a vegan version of these if you like but keep selling the originals if you value your market share. I guarantee for every vegan customer you pick up I you're gonna lose 50 of us “lifers”. What mutants sampled these things and thought they were better?! I think Kellogg threw the taste testers into the product lol… Soylent Green is people!

We have been vegetarians for 50+ years. Morningstar products have been part of our daily diet for a good while, especially the sausage patties. The move to a vegan recipe has resulted in a mushy tasteless product. I've tried using mustard and other condiments, nothing helps. Can anyone have taste tested this product? My grandchildren still eat the vegan nuggets, though they preferred the vegetarian version. Sorry this happened but we won't be buying.

For years we have loved the spicy sausages and had them almost every morning. Recently we noticed the texture had changed and, like other reviewers, assumed we got a bad batch. The texture is mushy and unpleasant. However after reading many other reviews, it appears this change was unintentional. We think it's a real shame and will have to find a different breakfast food. Please bring back the former sausage recipe.

Your Morning star sausage patties were the Best brand on the planet. Now after enjoying your product for over 20 years we are done with morning star. It is very sad that you changed the formula from great to Awful. This is even worse then Coke ending Clasic coke. You had a Great product. So sad : (

Now, it sucks. It's like eating a sponge with almost o flavor. Why did you have to change something that was so good to start with? The added sugar will stop me from buying it, I'm diabetic (thanks to genetics). Looking elsewhere now, says the thirty year vegetarian who has bought your sausage from the time it came out.

I am a dietitian and have been loving and recommending the breakfast patties for years. These were my go to for adding protein and flavor to breakfast. A couple months ago I started noticing that the patties tasted bad. Bought another bag and yes, still bad. Did the recipe change? Sure enough, after researching found that yes they did. Morningstar: this new recipe is truly awful. Loyal fans hate the new formula! Read the reviews of people telling you. Perhaps have two patties, one for vegans and one consisting of the old formula. PS. Even my vegan clients think the patties are awful. Do not succumb to the pressure to have a pure vegan product! Please bring back the old formula.
