I was introduced to this product nearly ten years ago and have enjoyed it for breakfast ever since. It was an awesome substitute for traditional meat sausage because it tasted and the texture was similar to meat. However, with the recent recipe change, it no longer tastes nor feels like the flavors and textures I once enjoyed. I will no longer purchase nor recommend this product. I echo the sentiments of the others who have reviewed, why change something that is not broken. I implore MorningStar to revert back to their original recipe that was very successeful.

I have been eating the maple flavor for a few years now and lately noticed the taste changed. Like others, I thought maybe I had a "bad batch" so I opened another bag and it was the same thing. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the recipe changed from "vegetarian" to "vegan". I do not like the new vegan recipe so sadly I must find something else to eat for breakfast. I wish Morning Star would have prominently labeled the front of the package that the recipe changed instead of burying the "vegan" label on the back.

I have been a loyal morning star farms sausage consumer since circa 2010. Previously, I very much enjoyed completing a well-balanced, protein-rich breakfast that tasted phenomenal. While still a good source of protein, this new formula is more than a disappointment--it is a tragedy. The fact that corporate would kowtow to a minority population of Vegans who are cudgeling non-vegan morning star sausage lovers into consuming an inferior product is disappointing. To run the risk of sounding dramatic, vegans have stripped me of the joy of breakfast.

I've never written a food review in my entire life, but this is one of the most dramatic switches I have ever seen from one of my literal top five foods to something I now find inedible. I am incredibly disappointed at the new recipe with regards to both flavor and texture. Honestly, I can no longer eat these sausage patties and I used to buy them every week at the grocery store. Morningstar - please listen to your customers!!! No matter your original intentions, you have ruined a previously perfect product. Please please please go back to the old recipe! Think of all the people who are just going to stop buying these but won't leave a review. I know it seems dramatic but I am heartbroken about this change. These used to be my favorite :(

These breakfast patties have been a staple of my diet for over 20 years. I'm extremely disappointed that I will no longer be able to purchase these patties because the new recipe is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! I appreciate that Morningstar made the patties vegan, but they really need to make a second vegetarian option with the old recipe. The taste of the new patty is so bad that I can't even finish one!

I've been eating these my entire life and I've always loved them. This new recipe is terrible. Mushy texture and a very flat taste. And when I heated them in the microwave, they produced a fair amount of oil, which is not something I'd experienced with the old recipe. Back to the drawing board morningstar.

Disappointment re: Morning Star Farms Original Sausage Patties. They used to be so much better. I have bought these vegetarian sausage patties for years and have loved them. The flavor is not as good as they used to be and the texture is just plain gross. The last time I had one it created a gag reflex the texture was so weird. I will not be buying this product again.

Please make one vegetarian and one vegan version… I think it's great that you guys want to make more vegan products. Why don't you then make vegan and vegetarian versions of each one? The original sausage patty recipes taste so much better in my opinion, it seems like hundreds of other people agree. Please consider doing one vegan and one vegetarian version of each product. I think that makes the most sense and would accommodate all your customers. The original recipe is just far superior in my mind. Thank you.

I used to love these. Had them everyday. The last few times I bought it I couldn't tell what was going on. They were so nasty, I immediately had to spit it out. gave it a few tries because I was hoping it was just a bad batch, but then I learned the ingredients were changed. Why?!?!?! The new version is like cardboard mixed with glue. So disappointed because these were the only veggie patties I liked.

New recipe is HORRIBLE! PLEASE GO BACK to the way there were being made before. We have bought these for over 20 years and our whole family eats them so we were buying 2 or 3 12pks a week. Now I will have to look for something new. Its is SO disappointing to really like a product and the company ruin it by changing it. Why couldn't you have left the Original's alone and made a separate Vegan version? You all will loose a lot of sales on this product over this.
