Very poor hinge design

The second time I opened this box, I could not close due to the plastic hinge binding. The plastic hinge deformed upon closing and required manipulation to close. Every time it was opened, it got worse until I finally cut 8" of the hinge off. Very poor design and from the looks of other reviews, most people agree. A complete waste of money!

Love it!

I play in a band and I use one to carry my cables and accessories and all sorts of things. It's VERY tough, light and has wheels so it's easy to move around. Best $25 I ever spent compared to all the "pro" gear at several hundred dollars. Our drummer liked it so much he bought one too.

1819 Storage trunk impressions

These trunks are almost too big for their own good. Because they are so big I think they get "over" packed and will warp under too much weight. This makes all the difference in the world on these things. I had to buy 2 to get the free shipping, but it was a good thing because I filled both up with my junk this deer season. I put one on the quad and one stayed in the van as a locker /organizer. I think -long term- they're both going to work out best as project or specific hunt/fish gear lockers in the shed for quick access to speed up the loading process. You have to pay attention to the hinges. If they start to bind you probably have too much weight and once they bind & break.. You get to start over.. But big picture.. what do you want for $20 bucks.

Work box

Great box for the money bought one for the quad and one for the truck .it stores all my gear fine no complaints. So be real with your exspectations it's not a safe or a steel gang box so don't think it's built like one........

As advertised.

We bought the last 3 that were in stock at one location. We bought them specifically for camping. One for kitchen gear (stove, pots, dishes, etc), one for tools (axe, saw, tarps, lantern, etc), and one for spare bedding. This Labor day weekend, it rained and hailed a fair bit and we left 2 of the bins in the open. All the contents remained bone dry. Now we plan on buying a couple of the smaller bins for non-perishable food items. These make loading the truck so much easier and now we don't need a tarp to ensure everything stays as dry as when it was packed. The only modification I made was a 550 para-cord lid retainer to keep it from flipping all the way back.

Great product

Love these trunks! I now have 3. Cheapest i have ever found these things without someone charging over $20 for shipping. I had these delivered to my door since shipping was free. Walmart simply put a shipping sticker on them and sent them out. I thought that they would at least box them up. I dont know why i had such high expectations for walmart! Luckily they were just dirty and not busted or scratched. Wiped it down and it was good to go.

Great for hauling

I use this all the time flying internationally. I tape down the hinges with packing tape and also put zip ties on the corners so I can tell if TSA or other authorities have gotten into my box. I haul heavy food, clothing, household goods all the time in this thing. I regularly haul 70 pounds of goods in it which is the limit on flights. Also we use it for kids summer camps - at $20 it's the best deal around. It is air tight but I don't think I would leave food in it in bear country. Recommend.

Good storage bin for the price

4 latches work well to keep lid aligned. Small overlapping lip on lid prevents rain getting in. Could probably use a bit thicker plastic, but price reflects that. Works well in storing my camping gear in the bed of the truck... less packing/unpacking. Holes for padlick are a nice feature (if someome wants something bad enough locks don't matter, but it'll deter the "convenience" thieves). Think i'll buy another.

Better than a plastic bag

This is very light duty. Then concept is great but needs to be heavier on hinges and thicker material. It will ladt for a while if yo are careful. It does have handles or lift points for two people to carry. It will be good for keeping dust, dirt, sand or rain off equipment.

Great bin for the money.

This is a good size and great for the Walmart price ($22 shipped). That beats $60 or $70 online. It's definitely not worth more than $30. It has a flimsy hinge and it's think plasic, i'm 190lbs and it squishes bad if i stand on it with the lid closed. Great bin otherwise. Can't hold a candle to my $64 heavy duty bin from Tractor Supply company!
