They work well!
They do have a chemical smell that if you don’t get rid of, it passes to wherever you put inside. But it goes away if you wash them well and leave them open for a day or two after that you can place your cereal of whatever you want and it won’t have that smell. They just need some ventilation before placing food.

Don't recommend for food
These containers have a horrible chemical smell that was not diminished by several cleanings and soaking. They caused our cereal to taste funky as well. I wish I had returned them before my return window lapsed. They're now in the yardage pile, unfortunately.

These containers are super stinky. I washed them and let them air dry, I thought the smell would gone after washing. So I put my kids’ cereal in it. One day, i opened the cap and I noticed the stinky chemical smell still there. I threw all the cereal into trash. Now I’m I’m feeling so bad that I had given my kids the cereal from these containers.

great concept for storage but…
These things stink so bad!! I’ve washed them a ton of times and tried everything the smell comes back as soon as you put the lid on them and then makes any food smell the same that’s inside of it and makes the food taste weird too!! So what’s the deal making these things smell like a chemical!???

Strong Chemical Odor
I bought a set of these a few years ago and really love them. I ordered a new set and they smell strongly of chemicals. I've got them sitting out, trying to air out the smell...scrubbing them down sure didn't work. I'm afraid to put food in these, I'm worried whtever is causing the odor is toxic

Great once you get the smell out - here's how!
I did not read reviews before purchasing and, sure enough, I noticed a strong chemical smell when I received them. I did a smudge of research and learned how to get the smell out. Here's how: (1) wash in cold water (hot water can set smell in); (2) put about 2 tablespoons of baking soda in each and full with water, leave overnight (3) wash then out the next morning and the smell is gone! In really glad I did this instead of tossing them. They are very large and perfect for my needs! I would give 5 stars of it weren't for this chemical smell issue. Overall though, great product once they're properly cleaned!

Smells like roach spray.
I have cleared these multiple times, soaked them overnight and they still smell like poison. Why would you need such a strong chemical on these FOOD containers? I had to throw all my food away because it tasted just like it smelled. We've only had this issue with these particular containers.
