They have a strong plastic and odd odor smell. I washed them and thought they were okay. I put cereal in them, opened them the next day and the smell was super strong & the cereal tasted like the smell. Super random because they are a great brand and I use all rubber made products for my Tubbawear but I don’t recommend it.

Saves your cereal!
No one in this house believes in putting a clip on the cereal once it is opened. It's very humid here so we get two or three servings out of a box of cereal and then it's no longer crispy...yuck!!! I HATE throwing stale cereal away so I gave these containers a chance and I love them. There is a little lift top portal on the main lid that conveniently snaps open and closed for pouring. There is an easy grip contour on the side so you can pour with one hand. They are tall so they will hold a small box of granola or a huge warehouse size box. I like the way they save space in the pantry too. These will save so much cereal they will pay for themselves. Solved my cereal problem!

Great but one of mine has a lingering rubber scent
I love these keepers for everything from (cereal obviously), chips and pretzels to rice cakes to cat food. I have bought several of these 3packs at different times and one of the containers in the last purchase smells really strongly like rubber and it's been a few weeks. Washed and soaked in dawn and vinegar didn't help. Doesn't matter as I can use that one at a later time and maybe it will dissipate, its an extra one now. Haven't checked to see if it's dishwasher safe so maybe the high temp will get the smell out. Love them though!

I was looking for a cereal container that poured easily. This was not it. The lip around the top caused the cereal to catch and you have to shake the container to get it out. And there are very large containers. You have to use 2 hands to pour since the lid closes as soon as you tilt it to pour. They also have a chemical smell that isn’t going away.

Perfect storage
We waited longer than usual for these cereal keepers to arrive, but they’re worth the wait. We have red in our kitchen decor, and these are trimmed in red so we’re happy about that. They hold a box of cereal. We put flour in one because we keep it in the refrigerator; put confectioners (powdered) sugar in one; and corn meal in the other one. You can use them in many different ways. Highly recommend.

Lid won't stay open when you pour
These cereal holder are very large, and seal very well. The problem is that the lid flaps closed when you try to pour. making them virtually useless. you have to hold the container with one hand and hold the flap open with your other hand while you try to pour. This cannot be done by a child or a person with use of only one hand (like me).

Item Reeks like old shower curtains.
I wish I would have paid attention to the other reviewers re the odor. These besides being too large the plastic smell is terrible. In spite of that I filled them all up with cereal and a week later they still smelled terrible and I couldn't see myself eating the cereal or feeding it to my grandchildren so I threw out the cereal and I didn't even want to donate these containers so I also threw them out very disappointing they should not be sold. They smell like the old shower curtains that aren't made anymore.

These Rubbermaid cereal keepers are much heavier than I expected, nice. they hold a good amount and the seal is secure. When washing before using I turned them upside down to see if the water would leak out...it didn't. The grip on the containers is very nice also.

Incredible if the lid would shut properly!
I wanted these to be awesome. They look wonderful. They hold a box of cereal. However, the lid does not tightly close. What? I am in such shock. These are Rubbermaid products. They do not have a tight lid? Usually, you have to pry open a Rubbermaid lid, what is up with this?

Cereal Containers that are Easily Loved
These containers have a great seal and are a quality product. I measured my closet shelves to be 19" apart and these just clear the space with 0" to spare = perfect fit. My concern with my last cereal containers was the the lid did not stay open and had to be held open while pouring cereal. These lids stay open and make the container very convenient. I tried stick pretzels in one container as an experiment and it did not work so well. They did not pour easily but cereal works great. The are large enough for family sized and warehouse size cereal boxes.
