Love it!!

Love the options we have when connecting this top-notch generator! We had a dedicated natural gas line ran so we can plug in the quick-disconnect hose whenever we need the generator, without worry of refueling. and we can still use gasoline or propane

oil level and noise level

It is about impossible to check to see the oil level while you are filling it. It doesn't take as much oil as the instruction book indicates before it overflows. Plus, the noise level is very, very loud. You must run it for 5 hours to break it in (poor neighbors!).

Great service, great generator

Everything for this purchase went extremely well. The dealer had it in stock, they shipped it quickly and the motor carrier made sure I received the generator safely! The instructions were clear; the assembly and the start-up were easy. The generator is exactly what we needed, with plenty of capacity for our emergency needs. Had a licensed plumber come out and install the gas outlet next to the gas grill hookup which a make a neat and functional arrangement. Running it now to break in, so we're ready for winter and the ice storms.

Just ok

I ordered one of these because I wanted a portable natural gas generator for emergencies at my home. Also because I already have another champion inverter that has been good and customer service has always been helpful with my questions. I was a little disappointed with this one. It showed up very scratched up on the frame (appears to have occurred before it was put in the box) and tons of little metal shavings (tiny metal balls?) in the package and I can hear them rolling around in the frame, and I mean thousands of them (no idea why)? Since I needed it I decided to hang onto it and work out any issues with champion instead of returning it. I did the break in as instructed and so far all seems well. There is one minor design flaw I've noticed which is the carrying handle is right under the exhaust vents which causes it to become untouchable until it cools off. I'm sure because of that the plastic/rubber handle will melt away or dry rot quickly. If you let the handle go it slams directly into the exhaust which is also kinda clunky design. Time will tell of its durability, I bought it primarily for home backup on natural gas although I did the break in on propane.

First one worked so well, we bought another one for 2nd home

This is our 2nd Champion Generator, we live in Louisiana where we have Hurricanes & storm power outages every hurricane season. Last year Hurricane Ida hit our area and were without power for several days. I had a 20 year gas generator, that was on its last leg. so when it went out I wanted a generator that would run off of Natural Gas, (trying buy gasoline after a storm is very time consuming, expense and inconvenient) So we bought this generator after having a Champion Home standby generator installed at another home we have in Birmingham, Al. It has been a God Send for us.

Flexibility and freedom from refilling in the middle of the

Love it. Everything about it except the weight. I've owned 5 generators over the years and this one is heavy. But it comes with the wheels and handle package, as well as the hook up hoses for NG and LPG. Even the oil! I almost wish my power would out so I can put this unit in service and give you a real world review.

Great buy

Tri fuel is fantastic. I just bought a house that has natural gas. Hooked up a gas line with a quick disconnect and I was ready to go. With a flip of a dial I can change it to gasoline and put it in the back of my truck for work. The electric start is a dream for us baby boomers, no tugging the cord. I did put a battery tender on it so it is ready to go after long periods of non use. Highly recommend @

So far so good

I received my generator today and unpacked & assembled it and all went well. The construction looks sturdy and seems well built. I will be setting this up to use as a back up power source for the house and the Tri-Fuel feature was key to provide fuel flexibility in an emergency. Currently installing a 30 amp connector to my panel that will be my connection point for this unit.

Tri-Fuel Capability is Key

I bought this for the tri-fuel capability. In a large area-wide power outage, electric powered gasoline fuel pumps will be inoperable and gasoline will be unobtainable. I wanted alternatives, and having both propane and natural gas was perfect. The few parts to assemble were easy and accomplished in 10 minutes. My first start was with propane, and it started on the first try. Power to the house was good.

After the Feeze

We went thru 4 days without power in 2021 in a Texas winter freeze and some shorter outages in summer 111 degree heat last year and decided no more. We priced options for whole house back-up generator, but the estimates were 18K to 20K for the wattage we needed. Since we hope the times we need such will be the exception rather than the rule, we opted for a portable generator that could connect to our natural gas line for our backyard grill, with a hook-up to our master panel install by our electrician. The Champion Tri-Fuel 100416 fit the bill, and provides more power than almost any other portable using natural gas. In the winter it can power everything in the house; in the summer it can power everything except the big compressor on the AC, but we use a couple of smaller units for the most utilized parts of the house. So far we have only had to use it for testing, but it has worked flawlessly. And the overall cost of the generator, electrician, panel wiring, and supplemental AC units was under 20% of the whole house estimate.
