Yes

I just bought this generator for something dependable, provide AC /electricity for my family due to hurricanes and power outages. It took a few minutes to get it to crank probably just fuel getting through the line once it primed up it fired right up and ran great. Main reason I bought it was the tri-fuel option. I have natural gas, so if gasoline's hard to fine I have other options definitely seems well-built and would recommend buying it to anyone.

Natural Gas only Practical Fuel for Long Duration Outages

We suffered but survived the big 2021 Texas 3-day Power Outage. 14 hours Off, 1 hour On, repeated over 3 day. My requirements: a generator for long duration outages, many hours or days. Couple hours off not nice, but not a disaster of busted pool equipment, frozen house water pipes bursting. For 7 - 10 KW for 24 hours need 15-20 gallons gasoline, or 10 20lb barbecue tanks....completely not practical. Natural Gas the only practical fuel for long duration outages. Very few portable generators Tri-Fuel. Key reason I selected the Champion 100416. Very easy to install and hook up. I tied it into a Mechanical Panel Box Interlock switch which enables Only the Main Utility (200 amp in my case) breaker to be On or the Generator Input Breaker. Now I can turn on any breaker in the house up to the Watts / Amps limits of the Generator. I can say run pool and furnace for a couple of hours, then switch breakers for other furnaces and loads for a couple of hours. Generator starts easy and runs alternating house loads up to the limit of the generator watts / amps. I have run my pool pump, furnace and all other small loads (lights, Internet, TV's) in my house at one time. One neighbor has already decided to buy this same Champion generator and do a similar whole house connection. One recommendation: I am surprised the generators has a Volts, Hertz, Hours run display, but no a Watts or Amps display so one could tell how close one is getting to maximum allowed load. As an EE I am building my own Micro based clamp on Amp meter. I definitely recommend this generator.

Good TRI-FUEL for the money

I am using this to power my house and 3 ton a/c approx {4000 watts}. I install a Hyper Engineering soft start on my a/c to get this to work. While the a/c is on I avoid using other high amp appliances like washer and dryer and microwave. The generator is pretty easy to use. The 240V twist lock connection is the only 240V connector on the unit. That type of connector is rated at 30A {7200W} so it seems it should have something with more capacity. The handle is mounted loose and hits the muffler if you let go of it and gets very hot when the engine is running. If you run it in your yard it will kill your grass and become a fire hazard. It needs a heat under the muffler and the exhaust also hits the ground.

For the price I would recommend their products

My smaller generator works pretty good so I ordered a bigger tri fuel generator for longer power outs. I have yet to try it out. The only review of this generator is on the delivery and the overall appearance. The delivery was very satisfactory, but the appearance after unpacking was not satisfactory. The product appeared to have been damaged at the factory or warehouses and was touched up to cover the damage. I don't believe it will affect the function of the product, only the quality and workmanship is less than expected.

Why can't this model 41537 gas be converted to Natural Gas?

I recently contacted the manufacture requesting info on if my peticular model 41537 gas only could be converted to Natural Gas. On You Tube it truly appears to be a fairly straightforward common process via an after market kit conversion. I was informed that Champion informed me that my model 41537 is not capable of retrofitting to a natural gas type for fuel source. I'm confused in that if the actual motor and electronics are almost universal between duo fuels. Only concern I could see on my low level of knowledge and comprehension of fuels is Natural Gas doesn't embed lubricants as are found in gasoline to help lubricate cyclinder wall firing, and BTU output. My limited knowledge I was informed thousands of hours of use may be a concern of "valve recession" and can be dealt with with adjustments of cyclinders. So my logic is telling me if this was used daily/weekly/monthly I could see such an event to occur. But occasionally and intermittingly hardly equates. I've had 3 back surgeries and I am at a junction of retrofitting my wonderful champion 41537 model to Natural Gas mainly for not lifting multiple gallons of gas without eventually having a fourth back surgery.....This is a request of survial when power is out. Connecting using (1) 30lb gas line to a NG outlet is alot smarter than lifting multiple 30-40lb gas cans. Then taking empties to station and lift another 40lb gas cans yet again in car. As its out of warranty it only has 35 hours on it and considered relatively brand new. It runs like a beast and I have a strong trust factor in that I'm confident it will always be ready to roll when needed. Has anyone heard of such a thing of being unable to retrofit to natural gas? That's not what I'm seeing on youtube. Interesting point I was referred immediately to their Champion tri-fuel model that would do what I need to. Sure it will be in the best interest of Champion but is it in mine having to purchase a complete brand new one, under my circumstances? Thank you

Great product and operates on NG, Propane or gasoline.

Out of the box, Crankcase oil/funnel, Electric start, includes battery, Propane hose/regulator and long natural gas hose with quick change coupling. Operates on Gasoline, propane or NG with the click of a switch. Took me no more than 30 minutes to set it up and I tested it on Propane and then Natural Gas. Ran perfectly! I'm totally impressed!

I would buy this product again! Great product, as described!

The flexibility of the tri-fuel model is unparalleled. The box was very well packaged and crated--no damage inside. Instructions were straight forward and clear--everything needed is included. Love the hoses, funnel, oil, etc. I just wish there were quick disconnects to go with the natural gas hose. Unit started right up after I followed the instructions and has been fault free. If the longevity lives up to the Champion name, this should be a "no-brainer" buy. Highly recommend.

Love it!!

Love the options we have when connecting this top-notch generator! We had a dedicated natural gas line ran so we can plug in the quick-disconnect hose whenever we need the generator, without worry of refueling. and we can still use gasoline or propane

I am very pleased with my purchase.

We bought this tri-fuel generator because of the good reviews and consistent listing under top ten lists for "best portable generator." Assembly was extremely easy. I've cranked it with propane and it started right away. A little loud; however, you pay a lot more for a quiet generator. The choke was difficult to find because it is black and tucked in. Maybe a different color or sticker would help. Front panel is very easy to read and access. Great generator for the price!

So far so good

I just bought this generator after hurricane Ida. I gave my other generator to my elderly brother that could no longer pull start his old generator.. I purchased the Champion Tri Fuel generator due to the reviews and the power. Getting this generator ready to run was easy. I'm planning to run it with natural gas, hopefully we will not have anymore hurricanes this year..
