Garmin Venu 3 – A Near-Perfect Everyday Companion

After almost a year with the Garmin Venu 3, I can confidently say it’s one of the most well-balanced smartwatches I’ve ever used. It’s not trying to be flashy like an Apple Watch or overly technical like some of Garmin’s rugged multisport models—it simply works, every day, in a way that feels thoughtful and reliable. What I Still Love: Battery Life: This is where the Venu 3 shines. I regularly get 7–10 days on a single charge with daily workouts and notifications on. It’s refreshing to not be chained to a charger. Health Tracking: Garmin’s sleep insights, HRV status, and stress tracking have become genuinely useful to me. The morning report and nap detection (which was surprisingly accurate) add real value. Fitness & Recovery Data: Whether it’s gym sessions, cycling, or runs, the watch gives detailed, actionable data without drowning you in metrics. The Body Battery feature remains a standout for understanding how well-recovered you are. Build & Comfort: The AMOLED display still looks crisp and bright, and the watch feels light enough for 24/7 wear. The tactile buttons make it easy to use during workouts—something touchscreen-only watches can struggle with. What Could Be Better: Garmin Pay & Smart Features: Contactless payments and notifications work fine, but the smartwatch side of things still trails Apple and Samsung in polish. Sleep Tracking Consistency: While generally accurate, there are occasional nights where the data feels off—especially with shorter naps. Price Point: It’s premium, and while it earns most of that price through build quality and metrics, you can find cheaper Garmin models with 80% of the features. Verdict: After nearly a year, the Garmin Venu 3 has proven durable, consistent, and genuinely helpful in maintaining better habits. It’s the sweet spot for people who want serious fitness data in a sleek, everyday design.

A Fantastic Upgrade: Garmin Venu 3 Delivers Everyt

I’ve been using my Garmin Venu 3 for a while now, and honestly, I’ve been loving it so far. It’s been a fantastic upgrade from my previous fitness trackers, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite gadgets. Design & Comfort: First off, the watch looks sleek and feels comfortable on my wrist. It’s lightweight, fits well, and the screen is bright and crisp, even outdoors in sunlight. The AMOLED display is a huge improvement over older models I’ve owned. Fitness & Health Tracking: The health features are outstanding. Heart rate monitoring feels accurate, and I like how the watch keeps track of my sleep, stress levels, and Body Battery. The hourly movement reminders help keep me active, but they’re not annoying. I used to be really into Fitbit challenges, and while Garmin does things differently, I’m enjoying the Garmin Connect community and challenges so far. Smart Features: Notifications come through seamlessly, and I love being able to see texts, calls, and app alerts right on my wrist. I’m especially impressed that I don’t have to manually select each app to receive notifications like I did with my older devices. Battery Life: Battery life has been solid, lasting several days on a single charge, depending on how much I use GPS and the screen. The only thing that’s been a bit tricky for me is the charging cable connection—it sometimes takes a moment to click into place. But it’s a small issue overall. Music & Apps: Spotify works great on the watch, and the ability to download music directly has been awesome, especially for workouts. I did notice that Garmin doesn’t support Pandora, which I used to use, but Spotify covers most of my needs. Final Thoughts: Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Garmin Venu 3. It’s stylish, functional, and has all the features I want for health, fitness, and smart connectivity. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded smartwatch that goes beyond simple step counting.

Switched from Apple Ultra 2 Watch and Fitbit

I absolutely love this Venu 3! Great battery life, great display, workout and health features are incredible and very insightful data that’s perfect for improving overall fitness, health, and sleep goals. Data accuracy is spot on and doesn’t over estimate or under estimate metrics. Thank you!

DID NOT LIKE

I had this watch for 5 to 6 days and only had the watch face I wanted for around 12 hours then it switched to Garmin generic face. I tried switching back to the face I downloaded and it would never come back up. Tried restarting, that didn’t work. I tried deleting the face I downloaded and downloaded again, and it would never change from the generic watch face. Tried factory reset and from there it would never link back up with my phone, after a day and half, I had enough. I returned the watch for full refund. I love Garmin, but for me the VENU 3 was a bad fit. My Forerunner 55 has been great, I may try the Instinct 2X Solar and see how that goes. I am not giving up on Garmin, just the VENU 3, we were Compatible.

Great upgrade from Venu 2

Happy to have upgraded from Venu 2 last month. Venu 3 is better technically, with all the old features enhanced and a more intuitive UI. Heart rate monitor-based functions all work better, plus new diagnostics offer better sleep insight. If you want more running- or golf-focused tools pick a different purpose-built Garmin. For multipurpose health monitoring and everyday functionality though, pick Venu 3. It’s a good tool. Integrates well with Apple iPhone too.

I love this watch!

I love the battery life on this thing. I wanted a watch that wouldn't die every other day, and this thing has proven to be an Energizer bunny with great lasting battery life. I also love the variety of watch faces available and the insights provided by the sleep coach. Happy with this purchase!

Many great tracking matrices

Was a longtime loyal Fitbit wearer. Difficult switching, but found the Venue 3 such an advancement in so many ways. I love the many features especially the sleep coaching and monitoring which has really helped me maintain a better sleep routine. I’m also looking forward to the Jet Lag feature for my trip to Thailand. Overall, I feel I made the best choice.

Venu upgrade was worth the money

I bought the Venu a couple of weeks ago. I have worn the Vivoactive, Vivoactive 4s and the Vivoactive 5. I finally got fed-up with the inconsistency of the HRM on the 5. I decided to upgrade to the Venu (larger size) and I am very happy with the decision. It has some features that I have not had before and the HRM is more accurate. I bought a Garmin HRM 600 so I would have very accurate measures. When wearing only the Venu watch it is way more accurate than than my Vivoactive 5 was. I swim laps in the pool with it, so open water swimming and use it on my bike. I like that I can very clearly see the screen, especially while swimming. Beautiful, bright display on this watch. The battery life is better than the Vivoactive 5, and this time of year I use the GPS a lot when training outside. I like the strong vibration for alarms and notifications, but also like that this Garmin has sound. I have answered my phone and made a call from the watch. I have an iPhone so I can’t use the text option. I am still exploring features on the watch, and I’m very satisfied with this Garmin and with my decision to upgrade and spend a bit more for a better HRM and additional features.

Worked great until it didn't

Love it, it has great features, had* a great battery life until an update a few months ago. Now it dies in less than 48 hours. I don't believe I've even had it for 6 months before this happened. I've been working with Garmin techs on troubleshooting but still no fix yet. Hopefully it gets figured out because 2 day life is not cutting it with my lifestyle.
