Cupcakes were hard

I thought I'd try these cupcakes as a possible replacement from buying gourmet cupcakes for my kids birthday parties. They looked delicious on the shelf and they were around $1.00 each. Compare that to the $2-4 per cupcake price at a shop. I'd say these are well worth the $1 per cupcake and probably worth about $2-2.50. I'm impressed. They weren't as moist as I'd like for them to be, but the flavor was good.

These are purely for looks, the flavor on each was so artificial and honestly gross. I love sweets but these are a no go. The worst part is that I took them to a birthday celebration. It was so embarrassing to have everyone be excited to eat them but not be able to have more than a bite or two.

Don't get me wrong I love sweet frosting on semi sweet cakes to even the balance, but these were beyond sweet as if the baker thought they forgotten the sugar and went back to add more (yikes!). If you like overloaded sugar, these are it! Beautiful looking cupcakes by the way - good job on that!

The only cupcakes I have ever met that were, no exaggeration, thrown away after my husband and I tried a bite of each flavor to be certain we weren't crazy. They're gorgeous, but the delight stops there. They have a bizarre, bitter fruity flavor. We have never tasted anything like them. He was too embarrassed to return food, so Sam's won out on this one. Shocked to see the good reviews! I served them for his Birthday last year so they were an extra failure.

My daughter wanted to have cupcakes at her wedding.She wanted to get them at one of our local bakeries. They ranged in prices from $3.50-$4.50. I mentioned Sam's Club had a gourmet cupcake for $1. She insisted on getting them at the local bakery. I said lets invite 8 of your friends and have a cupcake challenge. I bought 1 package from Sam's club and 2 cupcakes from 4 local bakeries. None of the products were labeled so they didn't know where they were from. All 8 picked Sam's clubs on taste and presentation. Then they had to identify which price was from which bakery. All 8 of them got it wrong! They couldn't believe that Sam's club were only $1!

I tasted each flavor of these cupscakes. Do not eat these straight out of the refrigerator. Let them sit out for about 15 minutes so the oils from the cake can be released. If you eat them cold, your cake will definitely taste dry and dense. The cupcakes are beautifully decorated ans that is the reason I purchased them. They definitely do not taste as good as they look. * The chocolate cupcake has a slight chocolate flavored cake. It is filled with a white cream. This cupcake is topped with a "cream cheese" frosting that was thick and overly sweet. The chocolate shavings surrounding this cupcake are dark chocolate and on the bitter side. *The lemon cake has an immediate artificial lemon flavor and is filled with a yellow tart lemon flavored cream. It is topped with a vanilla buttercream frosting which is thick and sweet. The white chocolate shaving surrounding this cupcake just add to the overly sweet taste. *The strawberry cupcake is a yellow cake filled with a very sweet pink strawberry flavored cream. It is topped with sweet pink vanilla buttercream and white chocolate shavings. Overly sweet and artificially tasting. *The coconut cupcake is a yellow caked filled with a very sweet coconut flavored cream. It is topped with an with sweet buttercream and sweet coconut flakes. If you are looking for gourmet, light, delicate, and airy cupcakes these are NOT for you. If you want dense overly sweet cupcakes that are topped with blobs extremely sweet frosting, this is definitely the way to go.
