This purchase has been one of my top ten. The product has allowed me to be hands and feet free of operating it. I could never go back to the press with your foot or the open swinging tops. I'm hooked on this style as we are happy not to touch anything! Makes my food prep so much easier! We love the look and the size is just perfect!!!

This trash can is worth the price I paid. It replaced another that was all worn out, and now it shines in our kitchen. We have to remind ourselves not to come too close while passing, as the sensor opens the can quickly. We are satisfied completely, and highly recommend it.

I've now had this trash can in my kitchen for over a year and it is used daily, multiple times a day. I absolutely love this trash can (and it's not like I have a thing for trash cans), but this exceeded my expectations. Still works as well as the day I got it and have only changed out the batteries once in over a year. Having to touch the lid of kitchen trash cans really grosses me out. And the foot pedal ones are almost worse because the lid flies open, usually making a mess. With this, all you have to do is reach toward the lid and it opens gently and easily and stays open long enough to dispose of trash before it closes. I have gotten so used to this that i find myself waiting for other trash cans in my house to open, forgetting that all the others are normal trash cans.

I ordered this for pickup at the store. Have used this service in the past and, once again, it worked well. The finish matches our new stainless stainless steel kitchen appliances. Visitors to our home are awed by the "coolness" factor of the self-opening top. Altogether a neat addition to our kitchen, and highly recommended. Caution: it does not come with batteries, so pick up three "C" cells at Walmart when you purchase your trash can. Not to worry, you can open it manually, so if your battery runs out (it has an expected life of 6 months), you can still use the trash can, only without the coolness auto-open feature.

I was looking for a Step type garbage can and found that the decent ones were more expensive than this one. I decided to try it since the other reviewers seem to really like it. I love this garbage can! The ring holds the bag in place, so the bag doesn't slide into the can when you put garbage in it. It's great for when I'm cooking and have stuff on my hands, I just wave my hand over it and the lid opens, wella! Sometimes if I walk by the can too closely, it will cause the lid to open. But, that's not a huge deal. Guests who have seen it and others I have told about it want one immediately! It's a great product and at a great price.

I was a little hesitant to purchase after reading mixed reviews. I am so glad that I did! This trash can is the perfect size and shape, and designed so that the trash bags are filled up without being so jammed that you cannot easily remove them. The open/close sensor is not too sensitive - it opens when you put your hand over it but not if you just walk by or stand near it. It is lightweight but sturdy enough to handle my 3 kids, husband, and dog. And, our hands don't get dirty or "germy" when we throw away trash. A must have for any kitchen!

This product looks beautiful with stainless frame and it is convenient to use. I am enjoying this and based on my good feedback as above. 1. When I waked through by the trash can, it sometimes open. I understand it has a sensor, but I like to avoid unwanted open. Can I adjust sensitivity to avoid it? 2. It requires three large size batteries as it need to generate power to open. I am watching how long it can work before the replacement of the batteries. 3. If it has a smell killer function, it may be better for the next model. I am enjoying it anyway. Thank you and regards

This trash is well made and looks nice, but it DOES NOT have an inner bucket liner as described when I purchased it (I've given feedback to ask them to correct the description). The trash bag is held in place by a thin, plastic ring - which was not what I wanted. I didn't bother adding batteries; I simply wrapped it back up and I'm returning it to the store. If you don't mind the ring bag holder, you'll probably be happy with this purchase.

Just set up the can; wish there was a foot pedal to manually open and close the lid, as I believe the batteries (3 C) will run out quite often if I keep the lid sensor on all day. Right now I have the lid in an open position. there's really not a place to grab hold of the lid to use it manually. Quite larger than I expected and since the sensor is so "sensitive", it can only fit in a couple of places in my kitchen; both where movement nearby will be causing the lid to open and close. I like the look, however, so I'll give it a try.

We got this trash can originally to keep our dog out of the trash. Having it motion activated is soooo convenient. The first one we had broke after about a year. It had plastic parts and after continuous use and an alluminum lid...the plastic snapped. We are hoping this one has been reconfigured...either they have put more durable parts within or the fact that they replace the larger aluminum lid with a smaller plastic one may make the difference. Time will tell. But the durability is the issue I gave it a 4 star rating as opposed to a 5.
