I bought this trash can 10 years ago and it finally played out!!! I have loved this can since day one. The batteries last 2 and 3 years before you have to replace them. I also like the fact that you can press the open button and it will stay open until you press the close button. The new can is identical to the old one. Now if it will last 10 years without any problems that will be awesome!!!!

I've had this can for 2 weeks now, and it is working great! I like the touchless feature when I have my hands full with onions, peppers, or other trash, and am able to throw items without leaving a mess on the can or the floor. The can requires 3 'C' batteries, but hopefully, they will last awhile.

I love this trash can. It looks great and the battery operated opening works great once you figure out where you have to put your hand to trigger it. There is no separate lining, but the inside is plastic and easy to clean. I put newspapers under the bag in case of drips. And the ring around the top holds the bag in place so you can fill it all the way to the top.

I ordered 12 of these cans for one of our commercial properties. Three of them arrived dented. 2 of them are working sporadically, the rest are fine. From the reviews, several people complained they are dented and I had hoped (to no avail) that mine would not be. Too hard to return so pounded out the dents as best we could. Also the rings inside that hold the garbage sacks are not very tight to the can. I don't hold much hope these will be long lasting but they are serving our need for now.

My husband was very unsure about my purchasing an automatic opening trash can but he loves it. I found him finding stuff to in it when we first put it together. It works wonderfully and when my hands are full all I do is put it over the sensor and it opens immediately!!! Price was right!

I purchased this product on-line based on the great reviews. I put the required batteries in and it didn't work. I purchased new batteries thinking mine might have been old, but it still did not work with the new batteries. So I returned it to Walmart for a full refund and am sticking with my very low-tech waste basket.

We bought this trash can right after we remodeled our kitchen 5 years ago. It's nice looking and works well; the batteries don't have to be replaced very often; it's easy to keep clean on the outside. It has just recently begun to malfunction, but it is 5 years old. We are going to order another one b/c we like it so much.

Avoid this piece of garbage. The motion detection is pretty dodgy, so it MAY or MAY NOT open while you're standing there, holding two handfuls of wet garbage. It will, however, open every single time you walk anywhere near it. It will close on your plate as you're trying to scrape it off. It will chew through batteries. It is poorly designed and constructed. The lid doesn't really fit on top very well, and the battery box like to pop open, dumping your batteries into the trash.

So, am I strange to think it's pretty ridiculous that the average price for a garbage can is $100? And, that's entry level pricing. I guess I'm just old. With that being said, the quality of this is fine. It's not too heavy yet it's sturdy. It keeps odors contained. It accommodates a decent amount of garbage. The design allows it to be placed near a wall, or cabinet, and the lid opens and doesn't scrape the wall. I've noticed that design flaw in several cans where the lid covers the perimeter of the can. I've owned it less than a couple months and usually empty it every couple days and have never noticed an odor. The one complaint is the sensor simply isn't consistent. However, it does work 80% of the time. I've noticed when it doesn't work, it seems to happen after a long period (overnight) of inactivity. Once I open it manually by simply lifting the easy access top, it's fine. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I have been comparison shopping garbage cans with the auto open for a few months (because I can't get over how much garbage cans cost) and this one seemed to be priced competitively and the reviews were very good. I do recommend it and would purchase it again.

I have had this can for just over two weeks and so far we love it. The sensor works great and has only gone off a few times when we walked by. Some reviews said that it came in not working and all dented up. Ours came in working perfectly with no dents. Very fast shipping, came in before we thought it would! The two things I dont really like about the can is that is is thin metal and can tell it won't be very durable and there isnt an inner lining. I just like the lining for easier cleaning. Garbage bag ring is a nice feature that makes it easy to hide the bad so it isn't seen from the outside.
