If you have a problem within your warranty period, you must send in the entire lid. The shipping to return the lid is expensive, and I had mine refused so I didn't even get warranty service. They said I needed an RMA number to return, but their customer service recording only instructed me to include the receipt and the reason. I sent it to the address on the recording as I was instructed to do. Now I am past my warranty period and even if they allow it, I will have to pay postage (again) to have the item sent back to them. I can't believe they can get by with this low level of customer service. Go with a different brand. It's a cool trash can, but only while it works!

Although it doesn't have a plastic liner and it is made of light weight stainless steel, it was the cheapest automatic trash can I could find on Black Friday. And it works perfect for my kitchen. No more messy lids to clean. No more hands to wash. It's great!

What a piece of trash! I bought Duracell batteries and this trash can died in 2 days. I've used the same batteries for a baby swing that still works after 2 years on the same batteries. How is this killing the batteries so fast? My mom bought a differnt brand and she have been using the same batteries months later. Dont waste your money!

I received this product as a gift. I was thrilled it was exactly what I wanted and it worked perfectly for a few months. But then it stopped working. I followed all of the troubleshooting tips on the company's website with no results, so I began my attempt to contact them for a warranty replacement. No dice. You contact Nine Stars Products who tell you it's not their problem you need to contact Nine Stars Group USA, and the latter company is completely unreachable. Bottom line: if you buy this product it will work for a short time and then stop working and you will need to buy a replacement - the company will not honor any warranty they advertise.

We got this for our grandmother as a Christmas gift, ordered online through site to store, when we recieved it thankfully we checked it before gifting it because it was dented, the lid was all scratched up and had been gouged then to cover the gouge the manufacture decided to spray paint it silver to attemp to cover up the damage!!!! WHY? I have no clue why any company would sell something with their name on it in the condition we got this in! I highly suggest going for one that is also not automatic because when the batteries die theres no way to open the lid until you replace the batteries! Piece of Junk, try another brand and don't buy this one!

-- This is my fifth Nine Stars trash can, bought this one for my daughter. They work very well, I'll probably never be without one again as I am quite spoiled by them. I even have one in our camp. Quality appearance, do not look cheap. I would recommend getting the additional $4 2-yr warranty as it is inexpensive - out of the five cans I've purchased it would only have been needed for one but it is good insurance and for $4, worth it.

Dented, made of stainless aluminum foil. The hole for the trash to go in is very small. It may be automatic, but it's not worth anything. The exterior is made very cheap. I mean if the amount of styrofoam that was wrapped around it and it still dented that easily, it's junk!

This is a very sleek looking garbage can. We are replacing a similar can that we had for over 6 years. These can run anywhere from $100-$200 in other stores. I was skeptical when I saw this one for so much less... but so far, we love it as much as our last one! The design on this one is nicer as well.

We bought one of these over a year ago as a recycle can. We recently purchased an identical one as a garbage can from Walmart via internet and home delivery. Obviously, we were pleased with the first one and its service for a year. In fact, I have no complaints at all. Even the battery life exceeded my expectations. I believe that the batteries lasted well over six months, and we probably opened and closed the can five to ten times per day. The old has worn well, and it is all but impossible to tell the old one from the new. We do use plastic bags as a liner, and these last about a week for both the garbage and the recycle (our family is fairly small). Note that there is a plastic retaining ring in the can which allows you to configure the bag such that you cannot see it from the outside. I have no complaints at all about these cans after more than a year of service. Walmart's ordering and delivery time were all well beyond expectations.

WHAO!!! this trash can is priced to sale. I've bought it at regular price and I thought it was cheap already. Have had it for a good four months nows, still running on the same set of batteries! This can didn't meet my expectations, it beats it way over my expectation!! The style is great, the height is just~o~perfect. You could say i'm in love with it!! If your read my title, I mention I saved alot, well because I bought one of those pricey cans, you know the ones with same funtion as this one but costed alot more. I don't want to throw any names out their but it starts with an "i", now days theirs so many i's, iphones, ipads, ipods, and something like "i don't have to touch". Well you get the point (hopefully), so that can cost about twice the price as this one and "OMG" did i had a hard time with it. (Lets me alway from my complaints on that can, it'll be too much to say). "Living Much Better" With this hands free trash can, kitchen chores have never been more easier. My two hands would be holding a bunch of trash can and guess what? the lids opens and just when you empty your trash in to the can. it closes.... what an amazing unit! Something to sure with you! So I was over at my sisters home the other day, after dinner, I helped out did some cleaning. SO; I grabbed a bunch of trash on my hand and standed by her trash can for like a minute. I frozed and BOOOM I'd realize this is not my automatic can. Hey, thanks for reading, I'd totally recommend this company's line of trash can. I have about three different cans from this company and all of it running very well.
