I've had countless step trash cans, each one lasted maybe 6 months before something went wrong. With this can, you don't have any levers or mechanisms opening the lid. It's a simple, battery-powered, lid that operates by the sensor or the override buttons for open and close. It's excellent. It senses if you're still in front of it (like if you're taking longer than normal to pour something into the can, etc) and it stays open. I've had zero issues, thus far. I would recommend it to anyone. Much much better than the junk $50 step cans out there!

My wife wanted a more attractive trash can for our kitchen, so I agreed to make this purchase. The hands free opening is very convenient, the style is easy to keep clean, and the size is unobtrusive (but holds enough to not need emptying several times a day). This is also less expensive than similar designs at hardware stores.

It's looks good in the kitchen and is very convenient. Sounds goofy, but I was sick and tired of having to open the cabinet below the sink to throw away trash. Now it's so easy to turn around and dump the junk--with no mess. It's a bit pricey, but sure is convenient. I may buy another smaller one to use for trash, and change my use of this one to recycling.

The build quality of this can is a little bit on the cheap side, but if you compare it to manual stainless steel cans, you can't beat the price. Manual cans look far less attractive and require the use of your foot. This works as advertise. Sometimes it takes a while for it to sense you, depending on the light situation in your kitchen. Bright kitchen works best obviously. It is also on the slow side opening up, but still faster then its competitors. I bought this 1 month ago, and batteries show no sign of wearing out even though we use the unit about 200 times daily. The buttons are also placed in a bad position. There are two buttons on the unit. One opens the trash lid and leaves it open, the other closes it. Sometimes when you go to press the open button to keep the lid up, it senses your hand and goes up. After this happens, pushing the "Open" button does nothing. You have to wait for the lid to close by itself before you can open it manually with the button. They should have spaced it out more. The power switch is also in a awkward area. It is underneath the head unit all the way on the top. So you basically have to stick your hand in the trash to turn it off if the need should arise. Other than that, the unit works as promised. I read other bad reviews about the unit giving out after 2 weeks so I took out a replacement plan just in case.

I returned this after giving it as a gift. The exterior had several bad dents and the plate that holds the batteries in place was missing. All together disappointed about the condition of the trash can. Appearance wise it was great, quality control of the unit was major disappointment.

I initially purchased this trash can for my kitchen in the process of remodeling/changing the decor. My mother and my neighbor came over and saw the trash can and fell in love with it so I ordered one for each of them as a gift. My neighbor is 92 years old and loves the trash can so much that he said that it increased the value of his home and the he is constantly looking for things to throw away so he can use the trash can. It's very classy and does not take up much room, but holds a great deal of trash. We LOVE this trash can!!!!!!

Works well. I like that it is tall instead of wide. Fits well into my space. I would have rated it five stars but the base of the trash can is not as sturdy as I expected. Also had an issue with the delivery status on the website. It showed "processing" for seven+ days when my other items were showing shipped or delivered.

I had a smaller touchless trash can from Target that took AA batteries. They were needing to be replaced and the tradh was a fight to get it out of the can. I bought this one hoping for the best. Im so happy with everything about it. No fighting with trashbags, it opens and closes quickly and quietly and the batteries last at least 6 months!

We've owned several of the touchless trash cans and our last one finally died so I searched everywhere for a new one. Walmart was the lowest price by almost HALF of what other retailers were charging for the exact same product. Said it would be shipped to my house in 5 business days but made it here in less than two for FREE! Thanks again walmart, you ROCK!

Very nice trash can. Not only does it look sharp, but I really like the operation. The lid pops open upon the sensor of your hand, so you don't even have to touch it to open it up. I like that a lot, especially when I'm cleaning up and don't want to touch anything until I've washed my hands.
