Amazing!
I used my push spreader to put this down about 3-4 weeks ago. My lawn WAS more weed than grass. I like the fact it's got some pink mixed in as I could see where I've already walked. I applied it 5 days before it rained. I did not water it in as suggested. It killed at least 95% of the weeds. I'm guessing what didn't die was a result of me not spreading well enough. I now have grass growing and I'm so happy about it. I will be using Scott's recommended plan for my yard. At current pace my yard is looking better and better as the weeks pass. I'm sure the guys that cut the grass are wondering what's going on. I wish I had some photos! I highly recommend!
Great product, worked well
I have the Scotts lawn app and even though it does recommend the 5 application process which every lawn company also wants to do, last year I used the Triple action then the summer and winterguard products (3 application process) and had a great lawn, maybe my best. I have requested from Scotts, their opinion regarding which they think is better or best? You can't go wrong really unless you get in on your lawn too late.
Product failed me again.
I bought this product and followed instruction exactly as required. Some weeds did show some wilt but never a full kill. The clover and chickweed were not impacted much at all. I decided to wait and see if the crab grass preventer portion worked, not fully effective either. I did get green up, but that was not the full intent. I guess the only good thing is the honey bees love the clover. I don't know why I keep going back to this product when it fails so often.
We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Triple Action and appreciate your feedback. We recommend applying to a damp lawn. Product must stick to weed leaves to be effective, and left undisturbed and not watered for 24 hours after application. Temperatures must be consistently (several days in a row) between 60 and 90 degrees. You should notice the weeds begin to curl and yellow a few days after the application due to this excessive growth, with a complete kill within 2 to 4 weeks. This is awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Triple action. Applied this to the lawn about a week ago and it is an awesome green and the grass is growing and filling in very nicely. It appears that the weeds are already losing the battle as they are getting all shrived up. I like the crabgrass protection hope it works! Two out of 3 not bad.
Product clumps and can't be spread.
I bought four bags of this before last winter and wanted to apply them today now that conditions are right (temp. and lack of rain forecast). I was also going to water before applying. When I opened the first bag it was full of large hard clumps and what wasn't felt moist. The bags had been stored in a dry shed and it has remained dry inside. I thought I could break up the clumps and use it, but there were too many clumps and after I broke them all up and put them in the spreader the granules felt moist and the rotor would not turn to spread them. All the bags are like this, and I'll have to find a way to dispose of them. I had used Scotts products for decades successfully, so this was a surprise. Also, I live in a relatively dry climate. Should get zero stars. Ditch this product, Scotts.

Works great for me
We live in a rural area and have a very big "lawn". In our area most people do not actually put in a lawn, they just build the house and begin mowing the area around it that they want to be their yard. That is the situation at our house. As you can imagine, there are a lot of weeds in our lawn. We wanted something that would knock out the weeds and encourage the existing grass to fill in to make a nice yard. The area we mow is 1 to 1 1/2 acres so this was no small thing. We decided to use Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action. I spread the product over the area we wanted to treat. It isn't difficult to apply. It runs through the broadcaster quite easily--doesn't get clumped up like some other products do. For the first several days it seemed like nothing was happening. Then I noticed some of the weeds started to look like they were drying up. It takes time but over the course of the summer we noticed there were a lot less weeds and the grass was growing really well. This spring there was a definite difference when things began to green up. There was more grass and less weeds from the beginning. We treated everything again just to keep the process going. We are almost weed free now at the end of the second summer. The grass has grown in and we have a nice, thick, green lawn. In fact, we may have overdone it a bit because now we need to mow more frequently because the grass grows so well. But it is so nice to have such a pretty lawn around our place. This product really works great for us. It does take some patience. It takes grass a little time to grow. But the drastic difference from our mowed weed patch that was to the lush lawn we have now shows me this product does exactly what it claims.
Great 3in1 product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in West Texas, there are places where the grass gets thin or needs replaced. This Turf Builder by Scotts helps with this and a lot more. It is a fertilizer, feed killer and helps kill bugs. The fertilier is made for the south's unique grass types such as St Augustine and works with the heat. The weed killer works for most weeds including dandelions, crabgrass and much more. It is also good for fire ants to kill and prevent new mounds. Also works for fleas and ticks which are common in our area. To apply, put in a speader and apply to desired area. Be sure and water completely after applying and let it dry. Definitely helps with common problems in the country
Triple Action, I think means triple the cost.
Wow I laid this out on my lawn per the instructions, and it rained almost 24 hours later which was perfect. Then sunshine. Nothing has died. Still have clover, dandelions, crab grass. I agree with having to work with the clumps too. I don't even think the grass is even any greener. And the kicker was it's super expensive to buy. Never again will I use this. What a bummer!

The triple x has been great .
This triple X Has been great . The only thing I need . The pre emergent for Crab grass works better than the commercial companies I have used . In Maine we wait for the for forsythia to bloom . The soil has generally reached the right temperature for the crab grass inhibitor to work correctly. I only use it twice a year in my lawn, always gets compliments.
That stuff will burn your lawn!
This is my second time using this product. The first time I used this product was last year in the late spring. During that time for me I had recently purchase a house that had a messed lawn full weed and not much grass. I used this product at that time to help get rid of the weeds until I was ready to do my overseeding project in the fall. This year I decided to use the product again in the late spring but but I noticed that this product burnt my grass. My renovated line has already been established for over +6 months. I also used the Scott elite spreader with the proper settings that are labeled on the product bag. Please do not use this product if you have renovated your lawn.
We're sorry to hear this happened after using Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action and we'd like to help. Reach out to us at 888-270-3714 so we can gather some additional information and assist you with our product guarantee.
