My second Oled TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from a 55" to a 65". My original Oled was curved and had 3D, but I wont miss those options. The picture has improved over the years. I have seen a lot of "burn in" concerns out there, but the average person will never experience this. Dont be cheap when purchasing HDMI cables. If you purchase a high end TV, spend the money on high end components.

Screen failure

Loved this until the failure occurred. Had it for 3 years but its not in use for 3-5 months annually I am away. Only watch maybe 2 hrs a day max. Vrry expensive viewing! Warranty expired as did my extension via AE. Repair cost make it more economical to replace. All the authorised service centers indicated it was a common failure but indicated LG had not authorised repair support. Never again LG, nice technology unacceptable reliability.

I am a true (LG) believer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a week now with my new lg oled tv and I could never go back to led. The vivid picture and black as black can be color is amazing. I have my cable box running through my Xbox one with Dolby atmos turned on and the sound that comes out of the tv speakers is better than the sound bar I bought a couple of years ago. I would recommend this tv to anyone who is looking for a new oled but doesn't want to break the bank.

Stunning display for gaming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Obviously its a stunning display for HDR movie content. I put in a Bluray 4K UHD "Life of Pi" disc on day 1 and wow, I've never seen such a beautiful display inside of a home. However, I bought this for 4K HDR gaming. It is a noticeable improvement over the TCL P605 in motion handling and responsiveness. RTINGS.COM showed it was one of the best gaming TVs, and I believe it. My only regret was going 55 instead of 65 inches.

Disappointed with burn in

My almost 4 year old tv has several areas of burn in. We read carefully how to avoid this by not leaving any one channel on for an extended period of time, running pixel refresh, etc. but it occurred anyway. This was too much expense for a tv to last less than four years. Do not recommend, there are other tvs with good pictures that will last longer.

Great picture, great features, odd design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this TV for 6 months now and am quite happy with the purchase. The picture is outstanding, and the selection of apps and the magic remote makes it very simple to access Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, or any of several other tops apps. I also think the internal speakers are very good, although I mostly use an external speaker/subwoofer setup. Only mild issue i have is with the glass panel this TV has - mine has a crack in it now from mounting it on the wall (my mistake), and it just seems like the glass would be prone to accidents like that, and doesn't really serve a useful purpose. But that doesn't impact the viewable screen so just a small complaint at best.

Great but could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All the hype about the OLED models having the best blacks in the industry is absolutely true. The picture quality is simply stunning. It is SOOOO much better than the overly-bright and unnatural Vegas Billboard-like displays found on competitor models. A few minor issues: LG lags its competition in app availability. Think HBO Max, for example. How is that not available? Think MLB (Major League Baseball) for another. To my mind, the TV is now just another portal to the internet for streaming, so LG, get with it and offer what people really want by way of popular apps! 90% of the apps you can access on an LG are probably something you could care less about. How many sites offering images of a burning fireplace does someone need? Another issue: this set offers scrolling images of classic paintings, seasonal scenes, etc. which are quite nice, however the viewer cannot adjust the scroll. The pictures appear and fade away at a pre-set speed (much too quickly). Me, I might want to enjoy a picture for more than just 15 seconds, like maybe an hour, or maybe all day. Such control is offered on competitor models, and it should not be hard for LG to figure out how to do it. Finally, I bought this particular LG model because of it offered integrated 60 watt speakers. The sound is good for television, and it can get loud when playing your latest playlist, but it does distort at higher volumes, and at any level the quality is mushy if you listen for that kind of thing. It is not for audiophiles, but that really isn't a surprise, as most people buying televisions already expect integrated speakers to be the weakest aspect of the experience. Bottom Line: The picture is why you buy, which is why I bought once price came down to earth.

Excellent, with a few caveats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this TV. The screen is beautiful, the remote is well designed and easy to use. And the OS is easy to navigate. My only complaints are that there's no built-in chromecast. I can Cast youtube videos but that's about it. Otherwise, I'm stuck with whatever is available on the store which is MOST things but not everything. No HBO for example. If it had Chromecast that wouldn't be a problem but it doesn't, so you just don't get watch HBO on this TV. I ended up buying an NVIDIA shield to replace the OS with Android TV, so I could get every streaming service I wanted AND a built-in Chromecast for the ones that don't have apps. Now, I have no complaints.

Utterly Disappointed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my OLED65B8PUA one year and a half ago (2018) only to be utterly disappointed after the burn-in which occurred while watching the TV normally. We do not watch the same channel or program four hours/days enough to have caused this issue. The options which prevent or at least minimize burn-in were active but the TV still suffered burn-in. It is mostly noticeable on yellow although it is also obvious on white and red colors. I did not realize that OLEDs were so “sensitive” to burn-in effect or I would of picked a much less expensive LED.

Superior OLED TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent picture and configurable options/settings. Extremely responsive WebOS and apps. Beautiful design. I have to take off points for the upscaler, which though is highly dependent on the material it's given to process is still over-rated in my book. The RF remote is hands down the worst I've ever owned. LG, PLEASE revert to IR based remotes in the future as working with that pointer was infuriating. I use the click wheel/arrow buttons as much as I can. Setting up my Harmony 950 universal remote in the coming months will be a REAL challenge. All in all though a good purchase and I'm happy with the panel.
