This is a great addition to my smart TV. The sound is as good as it gets. Set up was simple. I did turn off my TV speakers to get the full effect. And I love it, will get another when I get a larger Vizio.

THIS SOUNDBAR IS THE BOMB. IT GIVES U SUB-WOOFER EFFECT AND GREAT CLARITY AS WELL. ALSO CAN ADD AH SUB-WOOFER IF I WANT. IT MAKES EVERYTHING ON TV ENTERTAINING EVEN COMMERCIALS FOR REAL, AND WELL WORTH DA PURCHASE.

I purchased the 40 inch Vizio soundbar and it did not have Bluetooth wireless and the optical cable placement was very difficult to plug in so we just used the regular rca red and white cables and it sounded ok. The remote was very small and it was not universal to use with my direct tv remote. I seen walmart had this model Bluetooth wireless and it was universal with remotes and it had other better sound details so I exchanged it. What a big difference all together the sound is great and the remote is bigger and not only that it is universal with my direct tv remote. Very Happy

This is the second sound bar that I purchased. The first one was from another retailer and was of poor quality. This Vizio sound bar is a 1000% improvement! It has several sound options, bass levels, treble, bluetooth, several options for connecting it to your device. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

I have been shopping sound bars for about a year. One of the criteria was buying one that allow me to adjust the sound from my TV remote. This one does. The only drawback was the so called "easy hook up". I have a 55" LG that is hooked up to my cable box for the sound. After spending a good 30 minutes following the Quick Guide, I had to cave in and call Customer Service. The bonus is they are available on Sat and Sunday. After a few minutes, the rep was able to guide me through hooking up the sound via the cable box. All is good. The sound is head and shoulders above the sound that was coming from the TV speakers. Overall, I am very satisfied with the price and quality of this sound bar.

I love this sound bar. Why didn't I get one much sooner. I am deaf in one ear and 50% in the other. My 40" tv sounds terrible and I can barely hear it at 100% volume. But now that I I have this hooked up I can finally hear great sound at 50% volume. Now voices sound normal and clear, and I can finally enjoy my tv. I have my pc hooked up via hdmi connection. Just turned off tv speakers and turned on the digital setting and can stream video with sound thru the sound bar. So easy to install.

I got it for Christmas its in a medium sized room it would probly sound good in a bigger room to hooked to 55in lg flat screen hooked it up with optical cable easy setup if u use optical cable sound is a amazing and I only have to turn it up to 5 and it fills the room movies sound great xbox sound awesome also hooked up to optical cable but u have to switch between the two optical cables but its not that big of a deal I have hdtv so mostly all the channels are dolby digital and I have Mediacom dvr and I was able to sync my Mediacom control to the vizio sound bar wich is nice but for 98 dollars its pretty awesome and Bluetooth works good to .

This sound bar has made me realize just how much we were missing. It brought new life to movies and TV programs, especially Sports. We can actually hear clearly without distortion. At 50% volume, it is much more than the TV speakers could ever do. My TV is an older Panasonic plasma, so I had to use the digital audio connection so I can't use the TV remote for volume, but it is worth the extra remote. I believe that this Visio Sound bar would be a great upgrade to any TV audio system. I opted for the bar only without the sub, which would really boost the lows, but this is all we will ever need. Great product. Now I need one for the other TV's in my home.

I had the Vizio Soundbar from 2010. Compared to that, this soundbar's sound seems to have a richer quality. I use it with a Sony subwoofer. It also has a more stable base with shorter feet instead of feet-like clips designed for mounting. This also gives it a lower profile, convenient when in front of the TV on a TV stand. The previous version had a silver plate in the center that could be distracting. I also like the Bluetooth capability and that it remembers my input setting even after I unplug it. However, the new soundbar shuts off when the TV is not in use. Being an energy-saving feature, this might not be a bad thing but I do have to remember to turn it back on. Other disadvantages: the buttons are in the back. The old version had buttons on top making for convenient use when near the TV and without the remote control handy. Like others have described, the batteries of the remote control are not really in an easily accessible compartment with a door but require a user to unsnap the two halves of the device with some force. All types of sound cables are included but I use a digital optic cable other than the one included.

We bought this as an adder to our 55" HDTV that was lacking for sound power / quality. The setup was simple enough. The install was a tad tricky as I susupended it from the TV itself, which is mounted to an articulating wall mount. The only issue we have is that the volume is not in synce with the tv remote very well. For instance, we were used to having the TV turned up to 12-15 (out of 60) to get decent sound, with this unit, we only go to about 2. There should be a way to sync these, but I have not found it yet.
