The More I use it, the less I like it
I loved the grill at first. But the more I use it the more I see some of the cheap quality parts. My favorite part of the grill is the cast iron grate. The grill does cook very well. But, the cast iron grate is very heavy and when you have hot coals in the girl and go to put the grate on you have to let it drop a few inches. The grate is only held by 3 very cheaply made tabs. These tabs will bend every time you put the grate down. I see other reviews with this same complaint. Also, the vent at the bottom of the grill is extremely cheaply made with very thin metal. It bends if anything at all gets between it and the grill such as ash or dried grease from your meat. The ash catcher at the bottom of the great is made of the same thin cheap metal the vent is. It is hard to get out and easy to bend. The lid also is very loosely fitting and will easily fall off the grill. Pros: Awesome cast iron grate. Heavey duty top vent. Grill cooks great. Cons: Very cheap and flimsy tabs that bend holding the cast iron grate. Very cheaply made vent at bottom of the grill. Cheap and easy to bend metal construction for the ash catcher. Lid sets very loose on the grill and fall really easy.
Terrible quality!
This grill isn't worth the price even on sale at $20 off. The quality of metal is poor at best. The lid had multiple scratches on it right out of the box. The instructions were basically easy to follow which is the only thing good that can be said however the heat shield on the lid handle was difficult, opted to flip the spacer below the handle and it fits better. The finish on the cast iron grate is rough and not heavy duty as listed on the product description. I don't expect it to last one season. It's assembled so we'll use it but will not buy another one.
Very Sturdy BUT, quality control is non-existant
Purchased this a week ago - for large cookout on Memorial Day weekend. Start to put it together and one of the legs was drilled wrong. Took the leg back to Sams and they gave me a new one. Then, BOTH legs that attach to the wheels were manufactured wrong as the connection to the wheels was placed wrong. It takes a total of 3 hours to cure this grill and I was running out of time. I was able to bend the legs so that I could get the wheels on, but now I can't wheel it. I contacted the manufacturer and hopefully I will get new parts. Worked well for grilling and it is beefier than the Weber style, which is why I did not take the whole thing back for a full refund.
Poor quality
I bought two today. First one came with a broken thermometer. I exchanged it. After assembling the 2nd one I noted quite noticeably that the lid is bigger than the grill. It doesn't sit right. Almost falls off easy. I smoke a lot so I might just take it back.
Piece of junk!
The only way to lift the grate to add chips is to use two pairs of pliers. The metal tabs to hold the grate are flimsy and bend easily. I should have purchased another Weber, the quality and workmanship on a Weber is superior. I'm seriously considering returning it for a refund.
Good overall
I bought one and the legs were incorrect, looked like I got two of the same legs and the holes were wrong. Had to exchange it for another. Got the second one and it looked like it was going the same way on the holes. Just had to switch them around because the stickers were incorrect. Just be cautious you may have to exchange.
Nice layout and design but not so great on finish
Just got this the other day. It assembled nicely, came with all the pieces necessary but noticed that the fasteners are definitely not as nice as the rest of the unit. Simple directions and easy assembly. The lid arrived with chips in the porcelain on about 1/4 of the rim and one of the coal grate supports was bent flat against the bottom kettle. It was easy to bend back into shape but all the hi-temp paint flaked off immediately. Also, the heat deflector for the lid handle had near razor sharp edges from the mechanical cutting of the piece. It's an easy fix if you notice it, just take a straight screwdriver or piece of metal and scrape the sharp edge until it's rounded off. All in all it's going to be a nice grill but I think I'll change the fasteners so they'll last longer. With a little extra work and about $5 in new parts and maybe $15 to $20 for cast iron grill handles this will be a very nice grill. It could have been very nice with just a little extra effort from the manufacturer. As it is, it's just average but definitely worth the money instead of spending more than twice as much for the famous brand name. Oh yes, the diamond shapes on the grill do make for some VERY easy and attractive grill marks on the food. Just like the grill marks - the sign of quality is in the finishing details.
Not Bad. See Note.
This really isn't a bad grill, yes it's not a Weber, but then a Weber isn't a M/M, especially for the $80 clearance price. While it's listed as online only, my club had them it stock the day I was there shopping, and since I hadn't planned ahead on buying this grill I hadn't checked any of the reviews before hand. So first thing I did when I got home and before opening the box was to check the reviews, and like everything else there are good and bad ones. The bad reviews weren't enough for me not to keep the grill, but I did take somethings from them, like finding damage(out of the box) and/or missing parts, luckily(and happily) everything was ok. Assembly in pretty easy, just take your time and don't get to far ahead of yourself. Once together I placed the cooking grate in place, this is where my other concerns came in. It does have some weight to it and with that, the food and heat I could see where there could be a problem with the tabs bending (I think if there were four, maybe that would make a difference?). So I figured I should see about doing something to make the tabs stronger, I first looked at Weber's to see what they have, they have the same thing, but IDK if theirs are stronger or it's that the cooking grate is lighter they don't have the same issue? Note: I ended up getting some angle iron and made small brackets that I attatched (nuts and bolts) under the tabs for more support and also got some "U" bolts which I fastened onto the cooking grate for handles to make it easier and safer to lift the cooking grate off, especially if I were to need to add more charcoal after the grill was lit. Once I made these changes I cured/seasoned the grill as recommended, and have cooked on it a few times, just have to get used to cooking with charcoal again. All in all time will tell on how long this grill will hold up, but not sorry about my purchase.
OK BBQ
I Purchased this barbecue in my local warehouse because of the features and the great price. After putting it together I noticed that the ash catcher isn't as sturdy and durable as the one found on the Weber. I really like the cast-iron grate but two of the tabs that are used to hold my grate in place bent down because the cast-iron was too heavy. Overall the grill grate is the best part of this barbecue. Everything else is just OK and not as durable or as strong as what you'll find on a weber.

Great concept
