great machine
It is a great machine and you can use your own coffee in it. I use this machine to demo coffee. I brew hundred of cups non stop for months on end and the machine keeps. working. People, you know who you are. If you have hard water use bottle water. Your coffee will taste better. No machine will put up with calcium deposits forever, Wipe the inside and outside of your pod holder at least once a day with a paper towel. You do clean your coffee pot? Follow the cleaning directions for your machine. It will last a long time.
Best Purchase Ever!
I contemplated making this purchase for 2 years. But on my last visit to Texas, my mind was made up. I purchased my own on 11/1/11 and I use it several times a day. I am an avid coffee drinker. Now skies the limit on choices.choices..choices! My early Christmas present to myself. To boot...I bought the bonus edition which includes the k-cup reusable pod, the water filter and extra k-cups for the same price $129.98. Yippee!!!
Response to Meow4
I've had mine for couple of years and it still works beautifully. Sorry to hear yours is not. If you loved yours as much as I do mine, I would say go for another one. You can't beat the price, you get $30 worth of free coffee and the person that picks your up @ the goodwill will be so happy! Never go back to drinking the office swill, life is too short to drink bad coffee!!! ;)
Love this brewer!
I learned about the Keurig brewer while visiting a friend recently. She had several flavors of coffee as well as regular coffee and I think I tried every one. She even had tea and cocoa! Sam's has the absolute best buy on the Keurig Brewer. It comes with the personal K-cup which is around 18.00 if purchased by itself, and the coffee that comes with it give you a great sample of what is out there. I would recommend this brewer to anyone, but I would also recommend they buy it at Sams Club for the best deal!
Best coffee maker we ever owned
Our first unit lasted around three years and we didnt let a day pass before we replaced it. We had the basic model and replaced it with this B-60....As for the folks that had problems Im sorry, but anybody can make a lemon here and there. In my limited dealings with Keurig on warrenty issues as we did have a small problem with the first one several years ago, they were very nice and eager to make it right and make me happy..
Not great in hard water areas
I notice when reading reviews (very often) that the people writing them don't consider the longer term usage that we readers want to know about- they seem so, so excited and want to tell everyone about it. Is this brewer a 5 star product in under a month? Absolutely, but that's not the time to write the review, folks!! Almost any product would be in under three months. The folks with issues with this machine (it's all over the web) is that around the 4-5 month mark, the brewer stops making full cups and you have to cycle 3-4 times to get one cup. I'm on my second machine in just over a year. I am indeed in a hard water area, so as per the machine instructions I do de-scale it even more often that is required. The first machine I had for 3 months and it then began giving partial cups- I used the filter that came with it. I returned it under the Sams guarantee and my second brewer lasted around 5 months before the same exact issue and I was not using a filter that time. This morning I ran the brewer FIVE times to get one cup of coffee and it's been sporatic for a few weeks but hasn't brewed a full cup in that time- sometimes it takes only twice. It is very convenient and this Sam's series is a great value. Just know what to expect and don't write a review on anything until you've had and USED it for some time. My $25 Mr Coffee pot will last at least two years over this. I'll be swapping this brewer out again today for the same one though. I'm a big Keurig fan but they could improve the same issues for sure!
Keurig Coffee Brewer
I really loved this coffee maker but I have to return it tomorrow. I have read & reread the manual and followed the trouble shooting guide but I give up! It only brews if I "jiggle" & replace the water tank, each brew! I followed instructions and dumped the water from the tank (bottled water) and now it's time to dump this "lemon"! I will try "one more" as I love the concept. Hopefully I will be writing a GOOD REVIEW on the second one. I've had the first Keurig Brewer about one month.
Very disappointed
Well, I would love nothing more than to give this machine a 5 star rating, however I cannot. I was so thrilled with this machine...it was a Christmas gift from my daughter. She knew I wanted a single serve brewer and we were shopping together at Sam's just before the holiday when we saw it. It really was a good deal for all that you get with the machine and it really is great looking and it even makes a great cup of coffee! She doesn't have a membership, so she just gave me the money and I got it for my gift. But only two months later, it doesn't work. The water has stopped pumping from the reservoir to the pot. Like other reviews say...Keurig basically just tells you by email they are sorry it doesn't work. So I intend to take it back to Sams Club. I hope they have a way of recovering the loss for these, or threaten to stop selling a product that a company won't stand behind. For now, it's back to my old coffee maker....sniff sniff.
I thought the third time was a charm!
I purchased this brewer from Sam's in August. Within 2 months, I started having issues with the pump and the unit going into prime. I contacted Keurig customer service twice. On the second time, they replaced the brewer. That brewer arrived and within 10 days the "new" brewer started to do the prime thing. Customer service wasn't as nice the second time around telling me I didn't calibrate it right. (I followed set up directions step-by-step with both models.) Within two days, my properly calibrated unit began to go into prime again. I called back a second time and had the unit replaced. I am three weeks into the third unit and to no surprise it is going into prime. This unit is by far worse than the other two combined! I would agree with the comments that indicate there is a flaw in the pump manufacturing. I can't even rate this. When it works, it brews a great cup of coffee. I am hoping Sam's will honor my receipt and return my money, so I can venture into a model other than the b60!
Poor quality
In less than two years, between home, work and two neighbors, we have bought five Keurigs. As of this morning, not one of them is still working. It just seems that at some point in the very short life of every Keurig that they just quit operating. They are not user friendly when it comes to self diagnosis and/or repair and at some point you just get tired of dropping $130.00 door stops in the dumpster. As much as I love the convenience of changing coffee flavors with each cup, I will never own another Keurig product.
