Have been using this Ice melt for several years. melts Ice at several degrees below zero F so is much more effective then rock salt. I use a light weight spreader and have no problem with product passing thru it, little or no clumps so issues with it jamming the spreader or stopping the motor are non existent. Very satisfied.

I used this product (very little) this winter and it literally destroyed my driveway concrete. There are holes everywhere, every spot this item touched. It still keeps eating the concrete down even after many rains and washing. Can not believe they are allowed to sell such as destructive product. They should be banned TOTALLY from producing and selling this product. It is an extremely DESTRUCTIVE product. You will see holes all around your driveway or concrete wherever you use it.

I have a nice driveway that is about 10 years old. I have never used any thing like this before. We had over a month long of snow and ice conditions. When I bought this at Home Depot I questioned them asked them about this road runner ice melt. They said it is safe to use. Before I retired I poured concrete for over 20 yrs and had witnessed alot of damage because of products like this. They assured me that it was safe so I went ahead and purchased it. Now that it has warmed up and the snow and ice have melted you should see all of the damage done to the top layer of my concrete driveway!!! It will cost me thousands of dollars to fix the damage that I believe this product caused. I hope I am not up for a big fiasco trying to get all of this damage repaired. If I were you...I WOULD NOT PURCHASE IT OR ANYTHING LIKE IT . IT'S NOT WORTH RUINING YOUR DRIVEWAY FOR!!!!

I bought this last week for curbside pick-up after my pellet melt ran out and the first thing I noticed was the paragraph on the back telling you the definition of concrete and what it means to be "concrete safe". It says directly on the bag to NOT use on poured concrete steps and if you apply it to sidewalks or driveways that you should immediately remove the snow after it starts to slush up. This product is very misleading in the online description and I would not recommend it for anybody who needs it on concrete that they care for.

We have used this for many years on our long lane with steep hill. Have found that if you sprinkle it prior to snow or ice it prevents sticking to the ground and melts quicker or makes snow easier to clear. Couldn't live through midwest winters without it. Great value.

Exactly as the title states. In 40+ years of using different products to melt/prevent ice, this is hands down the most useless one I have ever come across. When thrown on ice that is dry, it just sits there. When the ice is wet, the pellets make holes slightly larger than each pellet, pellets sink to the ground and you're left with whatever original thickness of ice, but now it's honeycombed...at least it makes the ice easier to break and shovel/sweep away... I do NOT recommend this product. You'd be better off collecting single-serve salt packets from restaraunts and sprinkling those over your driveway.
