As an older person, I am having a difficult time adjusting to this mattress. It is causing pain in my shoulder and hip because I am a side sleeper. It goes away once I get up. I probably should have gotten the less firm mattress. It's a wonderful mattress, but maybe not for older people.

I had the original Tempurpedic king mattress for 20 years but after I purchased a new Tempurpedic for my son for his college graduation gift, I decided to get another one. Believe it or not but my 20 year old Tempurpedic was still doing very well as I have two other bedrooms with queen beds. However, I wanted a little softer top. The Contour Elite was very hard immediately after delivery but I noticed it getting softer as the weeks went by. I was told there is a break in period of 30 days. I was concerned at first but after two weeks, I really love it!!!!! I had a head on collision 30 years ago and I have suffered with neck problems most of my life until I started sleeping on my Tempurpedic. My hips and neck feel great! Twenty years ago, they only had one style mattress and that was it. With so many to choose from now, I was concerned that I would not choose the right firmness for me. I am so happy with my purchase! So grateful for this product! Have been sleepless for so long and had concerns I'd never sleep well again. Quite nervous after mattress delivered because it was quite firm, however in minutes it softens enough to prepare you for a good night sleep. Also when spouse moves it doesn't waken me.

It appears to be a good mattress so far! Has it only for about 3 weeks. Needs a lot of break in time. Currently it's a little too stiff for the wife, back and neck are sore since purchase. I too feel some back stiffness at times. After reading up on the mattress, I found most people complained about the same issue for the first 3 months. Wish I would have known this from the start. Only time will tell. Fingers crossed.

This might be a great mattress. I am 3 weeks since purchasing, and no one knows where my mattress is. I just received word that it's in Texas and ready to be delivered. Only problem is, I'm in a completely different state. This is the second "lost" mattress. I will be cancelling my order and going elsewhere. What a complete and udder joke.

My husband and I recently replaced a 16 year old Tempurpedic mattress with a new one. We went directly to the beautiful Tempurpedic store in our local mall and was throughly educated about all of our choices. We marveled at all of the different mattress options there are today. When we purchased our first mattress, which I loved, it was either a 10'' or 12''. I have always and will continue to educate everyone I know about this amazing product.

I loved my old Tempur-pedic, but the warranty was almost up, so when I decided to move my bed to the guest room and get a new one, I decided to get a new mattress as well. I was a little nervous, because I really loved my old mattress and couldn't imagine improving on it. I got new pillows as well, since they were on special. I really wasn't sure how this was going to work out, and was prepared to switch them if necessary. Well, I needent have worried. I LOVE both the new mattress and pillows - even more than the old ones. I am a Tempur-pedic girl for life.

I am a short person,so had to scoot up into the old bed,even with a low profile frame. This Elite is not as heavy,nor as thick as the old one,but just as comfy,and cool.I also had trouble making the bed,as it was so very heavy,so had to have help putting sheets on(not much strength) Also bought 2 sets of Tempurpedic sheets with the bamboo ingredient,and they are absolutely fabulously made.I am now able to make my own bed with no assistance (about time,as I turn age 80 next year. I purchased a Tempur Pedic mattress for my son who suffered back issues after radiation to his spine. Because of his illness, much time was spent in bed and that mattress stood up to the test of time and wear. However, when it began to sag after EIGHT years, and since It had a 10 year full warranty, I called Tempur Pedic. They sent me an email to get started on the claim. My claim was approved within two weeks and I called today to order a new mattress. They will deliver it and remove the old mattress in a week. This company offers a true warranty without issue. Be proactive to help these people help you. Be specific in identifying the problem on the claim form. Your photos need to be exactly what they ask for. The employees were helpful and kind. Way to go Tempur Pedic! Thank you so much for keeping promises.

It is obvious that the quality of this mattress is top notch. It does take a bit of time to "break it in". The mattress was "perfect" when we tried it out in the store, but the one we received at home took some getting used to. I think it might be because of the complete newness vs the one in the store having received some "love" over time as customers try it out. My advice is that if you loved it in the store, you will grow to love it in your home as soon as you have had enough sleeps on it!
