Country Crock is a great alternative to margarine or butter. It spreads easily and does not have that fake taste I've noticed in some other spreads. Recently my household was using real butter but we found it very hard to spread. That isn't a problem with Country Crock. It spreads and melts easily whether I'm using it for frying or to spread on toast. Great in recipes and my bread machine, too.

I was impressed at how affordable this is. I decided to try this on rolls to really get an idea of the taste of this margarine and was super impressed! It tastes so much like real butter that I had to double check the label. This is great as a substitute to butter and in recipes. This is the only margarine I will be purchasing from now on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up eating Country Crock, but stopped when I started to buy my own groceries because I preferred butter to margarine. When I received an opportunity to try Country Crock's new simple recipe (which I appreciate, as I consider myself somewhat of a heath nut!) I was interested to see what I would think years later. To experience the favor as simply as possible, I gave it a go with some toast! Honestly, I've grown accustomed to the flavor of butter as it has more of a salty, savory flavor than the Country Crock (personal opinion), but the Country Crock is definitely flavorful and spreads very easily. If you're needing to make modifications to your diet for any reason, Country Crock is an excellent alternative to butter! And I can see that it would also be preferable for some, given that it has more of a neutral flavor and wouldn't require softening -- which I can see would be great for baking. I plan to use it more for cooking dishes for which I usually find myself using vegetable or canola oils, since it will boost flavor and lessen the amount of fats!
