Please go back to the original recipe!

I have been grocery shopping for my Mom as she is going through chemotherapy now. I bought her the new Country Crock and one for me as well. She called me the next day to say the new taste was awful. She asked if I was okay with it. Chemotherapy changes your taste buds and she had hoped it was just that. I hadn't openend my new container yet, but I did after we talked. The new recipe isn't appealing at all. It has a weird flavor now. We have both used Country Crock for years, but neither of us can use this product. Please, please change back to the original recipe. Also, the old packaging was better, too : ) Thanks for listening!

Once Great and now dreadful!

I am very particular when it comes to margarines/spreads because I despise the taste of butter. Have a hard time finding a margarine because plenty of them taste like butter. When I found Country Crock "original" I fell in love! Now apparently the shape of the tub has been changed so that it is easier to fit in a refrigerator. I opened it up and spreaded it on my bagel as I do every morning, took one bite and spit it out and also threw out the bagel. Why would you change the taste? There are different varieties, i.e. calcium, churn style, etc., which all have a different taste than the original, all of which I can't eat because those do have a buttery taste. Now this simple recipe tastes just like the other styles. Please bring the real original back!

Disappointment

I am a long time customer of Country Crock. I bought the new recipe and I am extremely disappointed. The change was so obvious with the first bite. It lost the butter taste and now tastes like "margarine." There is now no difference between Country Crock and the cheap margarine. I am so disgusted that I will definitely not buy it again. I am now searching the market for another product. I don't understand why they don't offer the choice to their customers and bring back the original product.

terrible

what happened to this product? It no longer works to fry an egg. It just disappears on the pan into oblivion. it used to melt nicely. Where is the taste. When my son put it into his very hot pasta, it just sits there, no more melting like before. Went back to butter, for good this time.

New recipie

I bought the new square tub not realizing that the recipie was different. The taste is so bad that couldn't eat the eggs I cooked with it. I loved the "old" flavor and will try and find some and stock up. Wish you hadn't messed with such a good thing!

New recipe is not edible

I have never once in my life posted a review online. The new recipe for Country Crock original is truly terrible. I have been using CC as a spread and in recipes for as long as I can remember but that has to change. Does anyone out there know of an alternative? Country Crock...email me when you change the recipe back.

Unfortunate Change

The previous recipe was delicious... I was such a fan and used it on everything. The new "simple" recipe is... Simply blah! I can understand the move to make the product as healthy as possible but the sacrifice in taste is too much for my whole family. Thank you for the past decade of providing us with a delicious spread... I guess all good things come to an end. Time to look for a better balanced product (healthy but still tastes good)

New Simple Recipe is awful!

We've used the original country crock for years. Bought the 'New Simple Recipe'. It tastes absolutely horrible!!! Even when we put it in a frying pan to cook with it, the smell was horrible! We've always loved the original country crock. We've used it for over 15 years. We will stop buying this product and will try something else. We just can't stand the taste of it.

Turned something wonderful into something terrible

I have used Country Crock my entire life for all my cooking and spreading needs. I have an extremely sensitive stomach, and this was the only brand I have ever been able to use without causing distress. Unfortunately, you have changed to a new, "simpler" recipe (all the while still calling it Original), and I am unable to use it any longer. Not only is the flavor truly sub-par with the quality standards your company had previously employed, I am also unable to use your product now without feeling ill. If you ever start making the actual "Original" again, I will start using your product once again, but as of now you have succeeded only in losing a 30-year-long customer and I have a tub of wasted money I now need to throw out. Please change your recipe back.

PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the old recipe

My family has been buying Country Crock for over 20 years, so I was surprised when I saw that they had a 'new recipe'. From the very first bite of my kids' pancakes, they knew something was different and refused to eat them. The new taste is horrible. It's too sweet and is not good to eat on anything. I now have to buy the store brand since my kids won't eat anything with the new recipe on it. I only now use what I have in actual recipes where you won't be able to taste it outright. Once this tub (the first and only) is done, I will no longer be buying any of the products. At least offer the old brand under 'classic' or something!!
