Good Shelves For Garage

The quality of the shelving unit was good, as expected. It did take two people to complete the assembly. The connecting brackets were too hard to snap in by hand, so we used a rubber mallet to tap the brackets into the slots. The shelf boards are composite wood and will not be easy to wipe or dust with a rag, but overall for a garage they are sturdy and hold lots of stuff.

Very good product. Well worth what I paid for it.

I ordered two of these units and found them to be of excellent quality. Assembly was fast and easy with no tools being needed except for a drill and screwdriver to put in a few screws to secure it to the wall. With each shelf rated to hold up to 800 lbs. you can store up to 4000 lbs. on a single unit. The only thing I wasn't really impressed with was the shelf material. It's 3/8" particle board, so getting it wet would eventually result in shelf failure. Last but not least, I LOVE that it is made entirely in the USA. It's a really good product, and I would recommend it to anyone needing some storage space.

Can't use as intended

Bought three shelving units and returned the other two after having the most difficult time trying to put the one I opened together. Connecting the top and bottom shelves with no connecting brace/bracket was impossible thereby not allowing it to be truly used as intended 5 shelves.

Strong shelf, fiddly assembly

The completed shelf is a great size, and it seems very sturdy. Assembly is a bit of a pain, there was definitely a learning curve to figure out how to get all shelf support pieces to tap into place. For reference, I am a 30 year old 5'2" female and I put this together alone, along with two smaller shelves from Muscle Rack with the same assembly. A couple tips: Do the longer shelf supports first, and when tapping the shorter ones into place, strike slightly from behind the brace in an angle that is down and toward you. This will get the buttons to come forward enough to slip into the notch. Until I figured this out, I would have rated this 2 stars and would not have bought any more shelves.

Strong and Sturdy Shelves

If you have heavy items to store, this is the rack for you. Went together with little fuss, will be useful in my basement. Only caveat is that the box is very heavy to carry, due to the wood shelves, I had to open it in the garage and carry the pieces downstairs.

Good for the price

Sturdy enough for what I need it for. Needed to buy and install bolts to make this shelf in the 6 foot stand-up design. The shelf rivets are not long enough to combine the brackets together, so bolts were needed and now I can enjoy the shelf. It is still a good value for what I paid for it.

Change was not for the better - but still great

We have purchased 14 of these shelfs over the past few months. The first 7 were awesome! But the newest shelfs have been modified so that connecting the top and bottom uprights are connected with help from a shelf instead of extra pieces. Perhaps they are trying to save on materials, but it makes putting the shelfs together a real struggle with lots of frustration and less flexibility as to where we can place all the shelfs (spacing). Wish they would go back to the old system. Other than that - tip top - we love them - for business's stock room and for our private uses. I know these will be my favorite shelfs to move when we move to our next location. No screws or extra tools (we only need a rubber hammer). I do recommend.

Chipped corners on shelves

The cardboard packing came damaged half open and the corners of the boards are chipped away, Not sure what to get to put on the corners to keep them from not falling in . Anyone have any suggestions as what to get to help with reinforcement of the waferboard chipped off corners? I have had good experiences with online Walmart shopping until now. Not happy with this purchase.

98 Pound Weakling Rack

This is the cheapest, lightest weight set of shelves I have ever bought. All of the metal posts and supports are very light weight and flimsy. The shelving material is only 5/16" particle board to support loads over a 24" x 48" area! That's pathetic! Other similar shelving units I have: (1) 15"x36" with 11/16" shelving; (2) 14"x36" units with 7/16" shelving; (2) 18" x 36" units with 1/2" shelving; (1) 11 x 36" unit with 9/16" shelving (all similar type and grade of particle board). These "Muscle Racks" (I purchased two) have much more area to support loads but have considerably less supportive material that other similar shelving unit having significantly less surface area. Compared to what other manufacturers furnish, these racks should have had at least 5/8" to 3/4" thick shelving material to be rated for comparable support. All this is considering of course that the flimsy posts and shelf supports are sufficient to carry the load. Now I am faced with the task of purchasing and adding another layer of similar material to all of the shelves or purchase adequate material and replace this substandard shelving furnished by Muscle-LESS Rack! If there was a less-than-one star rating available, I would have selected that one.

good light weight storage

items appear to be weak when assembling but are sturdy when together. we ordered two sets and one had already been opened and resealed with boxing tape and when we opened it the press board for shelves were badly broken. when shipping there are no guarantees on how they are handled but the return was easy at local store. For light duty storage these will do you fine.
