pretty sturdy shelf - hard to assemble

Once this shelf unit is assembled, it seems to be pretty stable. The problem is that in order to assemble it, you have to get the top 4 3-foot standards to match end to end with the bottom 4 while fitting the riveted shelf holders into them - a bit like trying to balance one pencil on the end of another pencil while sharpening the top pencil. The assembly instructions give no clue how to accomplish this, and it takes a lot of trial and error.

stack the clutter

These shelves are just what I needed to get my garage mess organized into one area. I did modify the shelves to accommodate my tubs of stuff. The way the frame is constructed needed reinforcement. That was a quick trip to the hardware store for bolts, nuts and washers. They are quick to assemble.

Not as easy

This shelving isn't quite that easy to assemble. I suggest getting a second person to assist when You attach the second level. It's very hard to maneuver Getting the pieces to meet and lock in together all the way around. I will say this when all is done, it's great!!! I'm no longer embarrassed to open my garage door.

Good shelving

Good shelving but the photo is incorrect. I have several shelves from this mfg. and some have connectors for the columns and some need to have a shelve at the joint to keep it connected. The photos show connectors but none come with it. The enclosed instructions do not list connectors in the parts list. A shelf MUST be place at the 3'-0" location to hold it together. The photos are of a different model.

Sturdy

This is huge. Be sure to measure the spot you want to put at before you buy it. That said, I find it to be very sturdy. I have only two cabinets in my kitchen so I purchased it to use for storing kitchen items. I have the microwave on the second shelf. It is a large microwave. I have all my kitchen appliances on the shelves and store my large pots and pans on top. It is a very tall shelving unit. The shelves are of a heavy duty corkboard type material. I am planning on covering them with some wipeable contact paper. Beware: the box is very heavy so get it delivered if you have a bad back. My roommate assembled it. If I had had to assembled it, I would have just carried one piece of it at a time from where the delivery person left it.

The best thing I ever found to restore order to my

I originally brought 2 at home depot for $89.99 I came home and was online in Walmart when I saw the exact same product for $56.49 so I returned the 2 and brought 4 from Walmart. I ended up buying 12 shelving racks. They are great for the basement and garage. I have finally restored order to my home and they go together in about 15 minutes with 1 other person helpingkj

Great shelving

Got the first one for the garage. Had a bit of a time figuring out how to put it together, but eventually got the hang of it. So, when we needed more shelving for our storage shed and computer room - got the same rack and it's just the right size for all of our needs. The best part is that it is adjustable so you can space the shelves out to accommodate a variety of heights. Very good deal - especially for this price!

Will work for our needs but probably not for all

Packaging not adequate for shipping. Some pieces came in damaged but usable. The whole assembly is cheaply made, very light duty and structurally questionable for any considerable weight. Doesn't stay together very well, especially when trying to move the shelf into final place. The price was right but you definitely get what you pay for. I would not recommend this product to anyone else. Spend a few bucks more on a better shelf.

it is ok

Shelf was delivered damaged, contacted Walmart and they returned 25% of the cost. It's strange that the vertical bars are two pieces so you have to have a shelf right at the middle. It's a little flimsy when you push on it if it's not right up in a corner, hopefully that will get better as it gets more on it. I would recommend it for the price. It's a great size and holds large totes. Overall I'm really happy I bought it.

Poor Quality

I bought this shelf because I thought it was similar to another shelf I own. The price seemed like a deal but you get what you pay for. The frame didn't fit together securely even after tapping the ends into the grooves. This shelf was not able to be assembled unless I glued the pieces in place. That defeats the purpose of having the shelf because it could never be used again if it were ever disassembled. That left me with a heavy shelf that was a pain to get back to the store to return. I'm very angry and disappointed about this purchase.
