Great, sturdy shelving - easy to assemble.

We are very pleased with these shelves for storage in our basement. We put these together (two people) in about 15 minutes for the first one, and 10 minutes for each of the remainder. We initially bought three and decided to buy another because we had more stuff we wanted to organize. They feel very sturdy and have an enormous capacity. I like that where you place the shelves is for the most part according to your preference however once the unit is fully assembled, you can't move any of the shelves. Additionally, the middle shelf has a fixed spot it must be in because it is what holds the seam of the vertical legs together. A word of caution - make note of the shipping weight! These boxes were very heavy and awkward to move into our basement (almost 100lbs each!). Measure your space carefully and be sure these will fit and work for you because you don't want to have to return them!

Excellent design but parts not included

This would be a 5 star set of shelves except for one thing. They clearly changed their design but did not change the parts in the box although they have changed the instructions. The new design is much more stable than the old one but in order to make it work you need to get in touch with support and get them to send some upgraded connectors to you. They happily do it but it shouldn't be necessary.

NOT HEAVY DUTY

These units are not heavy duty! They work well for general storage but the boards are two weak to fill with boxes of books or other heavy items. You can not fill a shelf with 16 oz. cans stacked 2 high without the shelf sagging dangerously in the middle. Sliding heavy items off the front of the shelf can pull the shelf support out enough for the shelf to droop inside the support.

Great Shelf for price

This shelf is being used along side a similar model purchased at Costco. Both shelves hold the same quantity, but the Costco shelf is a little more sturdy. It was, however, more expensive. Got this shelf on a black Friday special for just under $50. It is well worth the money for that price.

Edsal shelving

The pressboard is a bit damaged. The steel angles are a tad thicker than paper and can be twisted by hand very easy. Thicker angles would make these a much better set of shelving. 10 years ago I purchased similar shelving and they were 50 percent heavier, and the corners could not be twisted by hand, and I still have almost 30 of those sets and they look like new after 30 years, the paint on the new units are already chipping off. Sometimes older is better, and stronger

VERY STURDY. And a LOT of storage space. First one was a bit of a challenge to get together... But each unit gets easier and easier! I've purchased 6 units now. And these are definitely the best shelving units I've seen, for the price. A few pointers for assembly: 1. you definitely need to have it on a level surface to start. 2. you should definitely hammer each brace into the slot, before putting the shelf board in place. 3. it would be easier to assemble with two (or more) people, although I did it by myself.

These are simple to assemble with a rubber mallet. Don't try to assemble the lowest shelf first, but half way or higher. The metal sleeve that keeps upper and lower together seems fine for stationary use. If you were to put it on wheels or something it might be a bit unsteady. Nice finish on the steel and the compressed wood is not the worst that I've seen. It's not as fine as mdf. Great value for the price.

Needs feet and better instructions.

Relatively easy to put together, after I looked up some Youtube videos, the instructions left out a couple key points. However, the parts also come apart fairly easily. Probably won't be a problem once the shelves are weighted down with stuff, but it was a problem as I was trying to get it into place. And I really wish it came with some sort of plastic or rubber "feet" - the bare metal of the posts made some serious dents in my wooden shed floor just during the assembly.

low quality

I do not think thiswas actually an Edsel product, due to its poor quality. I think it was a copy cat brand, as I saw nothing on the box saying it was an Edsel product. Poor fit on shelf braces where they interfaced with uprights, needed to use sheet metal screws to keep it from coming apart

Once again a waste of money

What a piece of cheap junk. Needed this to keep stuff off the floor in my basement. Directions are useless. Putting this together was rediculous. Watched you tube. Not much help. Everyone had same problems. There are no bolts to hold this together. It "snaps " together with little metal nobs. Totally unstable. The thin boards that are "shelves" are not gping to hold up. I can't believe I actually paid for this piece of garbage. Would have returned it. I'm a senior. Couldn't get it back up the basement stairs. DO NOT waste your money!. I am outraged.
