Solid shelving

It is big and I like that its wide because I can fit a ton on each shelf. It's actually a little too big for my basement so I couldn't put the top shelp on it but I may end up moving it to the garage at some point. In any case this is very strong and holds a LOT of crates and boxes

DO NOT PURCHASE

When received most of the boards were already cracked, and half of the second unit is missing entirely! Not to mention the boards themselves are garbage and cannot handle much weight at all. They bend with any weight. Even just pushing down with your hand. DO NOT PURCHASE. They have much better shelves at Home Depot and Lowes for not much more.

Changed Design

This is the 3rd one of these I've purchased. The first two were excellent, but somewhere in between they changed the design, eliminating some parts that makes it very difficult to assemble. The four top verticals stand on top of the four bottom verticals. They used to include brackets that clipped them together, no longer. Now it is necessary to place one shelf straddling both verticals to assemble these shelves; that is a two person job and dictates EXACTLY where that shelf must be. It's also very easy to damage the parts attempting to attach the verticals and horizontals simultaneously, holding them together with one hand while tapping them into place with the other. I am very happy with the first two, but the redesign is a deal killer. I won't be buying another one.

shelf NOT stable!

As others have said, this needs couplings to hold top and bottom sections together. It has been VERY frustrating to deal with this shelf without them. I installed the shelf as the coupling and it seems to work. But dont touch it though... it may just come tumbling down! I wouldn't bug this again. Will stick to the industrial wire shelving.

Not heavy duty

I bought 4 of these racks for our garage. It is weaker than I expected...DEFINITELY cannot hold anywhere near 800lbs....I had 300 lbs on the bottom shelf and the board began to bow and eventually the middle pushed to the floor. (Bottom shelf) Metal is not super strong and boards should be a lot thicker. The positive to these shelves are that they are huge and store a lot, leaving more open space on the floor. I would not purchase again or recommend.

Average

The 4 verticals pillars at the edges come in 2 pieces. You have to stack them on top of each other and hold them together by a horizontal shelf. That causes them to be rather unstable. it would be so much better if the pillars came in 1 long piece rather than 2.

The shelf seems to he very sturdy. I'm a little worried about the where the middle comes together it doesn't seem like there is much there.. Also, when it came most of the corners of the shelves had crumbled although once I put the boards o. The she!f it wasn't very noticeable.

Durable shelf

Great shelf when set up. Takes a minute to put together but fairly easy. Shipped to me fine, but I can see how the box could get damaged and cause the shelves to be damaged because the package is extremely heavy. I bought four and none of the boxes had any damage.

Decent for the money

Not bad for what I paid for it on sale. I don't think I would even consider putting the maximum load on a shelf, as the 1/2" particle board shelving is too weak. Easy to set up with no tools required, just be sure to have the top upright sitting directly on the bottom one when assembling. This will take a little work if you are doing it by yourself, as the uprights are only 1/16" thick . Even with this, I wish I had ordered a couple more units, as they do hold a lot and organize my shop well.

Metal is solid, wood shelves are weak

The metal seems to be strong in these shelves, but the shelves are weak. From the description I knew it was particle board, but this is thin particle board. I have cabinets and other things made from particle board that I have put together over the years that are still going strong. I'm not sure if this will last if I put anything real heavy on it in the middle of the shelves. I think if they would have put some kind of finish on one side of the particle board it would be more stable. If they had these at the Walmart stores to look at before buying I would have never bought it. I did pick up at the Walmart store so I did not have some of the issues that I have been reading about where the box gets delivered damaged. But I bought two of these and in one of them I was shorted two beams. I used 2 of the beams from the other box to finish putting it together. There is a paper in the box to not return to the store, to call a number for questions, assistance on assembly, or parts. I called the number and left a message to call me back. Hopefully I will get the 2 missing parts or Walmarts will be getting an open box back.
