For context, my previous mattress was a plush mattress I purchased online for cheap that I’ve had for 5 years. I had been experiencing back pain in the mornings and had just figured it was just part of life in my thirties. It took me way too long to see the correlation to my mattress, especially since I only noticed the pain in the mornings. When I selected the mattress I wanted, I decided to try the firm option as I heard that it is recommended for back sleepers. In retrospect, I realized that plush was not a good fit for me at all and caused spinal misalignment while I slept. I was a bit scared at first that this mattress would be too firm and would require a “break in” period in order to feel comfortable. I am so happy to report that I was so wrong! My first time sleeping on the mattress just felt so good throughout my whole body. I had no idea that my body had been craving this level of support. After sleeping on this mattress for two weeks, I can confidently say that my sleep quality has noticeably improved (less waking up in the middle of the night and deeper sleep it feels like). I can also report that the morning back pain has drastically decreased (there’s still some but I think my body is still recovering from the damage I had accumulated from the previous mattress). Overall, this mattress has been such an excellent improvement for my health. I will also note that it’s really good at minimizing the movement of my partner sleeping next to me. I believe that also contributed to my more restful sleep. I can barely feel him tossing next to me which is really cool. I don’t feel like I’ve noticed a difference in the cooling effect of this mattress but my cotton sheets may be to blame. I hope this review is helpful. I tried to be thorough because purchasing a mattress is a significant investment. I think because this mattress is firm it is likely to stand the test of time.

It’s comfortable I would say it’s between soft and hard . It’s not too soft and not hard. It’s a very thick mattress and heavy. I love that the mattress isn’t white and so it won’t shows stains or anything. I feel like I actually have been getting good sleep since I’ve been using it. I like that it’s not bouncey and its firmness is not too firm. I also like that it’s a thicker mattress it added some height to me bed. The next step is getting a nice bed frame.

I think the combination of the hybrid of foam pan springs that gives optimal support. I live in Phoenix, the cooling this mattress has beat my purple hands down.

From materials, to design, to craftsmanship, it embodies luxury. It's plush, stable, and supportive. It also comes with conveniently placed handles on the sides that make it extremely easy to move. I also really love the fact it's not white, which can quickly show signs of wear even with a mattress protector. The first time I laid my weary bones upon my newly bequeathed mattress, it felt like my body left the mortal plane and ascended to the stars. It was like sinking into a cloud of hugs and marshmallows. I'm not ashamed to admit that it brought a tear to my eye. (Ok, several tears). Long story short, sleep is my frenemy. I have a connective tissue disorder that causes weak joint connections and severe chronic pain. My joints shift and dislocate easily, especially if I sleep "wrong". In the past, I've woken up more injured than I was before I want to sleep. I love sleep, but it doesn't love me back. In a month of sleeping on this mattress, I have experienced such pain relief that I am not the same person I was prior. My joints feel more stable, my back muscles stopped constantly spasming, and my hips and shoulders no longer feel like they’re collapsing in on themselves. I wake up feeling genuinely rested, which has been nearly impossible for me in the last few years. The pillow-top layer is perfect for side sleeping. It has a memory foam quality that conforms to my body, leaving my shoulders and hips supported without feeling crushed. The layer beneath the pillow top is supportive with great bounce and weight distribution. I never wake when my husband gets up for work, which attests to the quality design. I also love that I never feel too warm, which has been incredible as a very hot sleeper. My only complaint is that I never want to get out of bed!! Serta, you have ruined me for all other beds. This mattress has given me more than a good night of sleep, it has completely changed my life. If you're shopping for a new mattress, look no further than the Serta Perfect Sleeper X. It's worth every penny and then some!!
