Something I like to include in my reviews if I can is not just my feedback but my wife's. So this is a 2 for 1 review. But first, you have to suffer through my portion of it.
For me, the caramel corn's flavor is a good mixture of very buttery and caramelized sugar. I get the buttery flavor right away and then it kind of disappears eventually as I keep eating. But note that I say caramelized sugar because it does taste like that and not some generic caramel flavor. I think it's incredibly tasty. And I say that as someone who tends to not really like most caramel corn. As for the cheese popcorn, I think it's very tasty, too. It seems to have a genuine aged cheddar flavor to it, too - it is pronounced and not like the usual powdered whatever cheese-like flavoring that a lot of cheese popcorn tends to have. So to me, whether it's the caramel corn or the cheese popcorn, the flavors hit the spot.
Something else that matters quite a bit to me with popcorn is the amount of tough kernels or pieces of kernels leftover in my mouth as I eat it. I sometimes choke on it or get dry mouth and have to spit out the kernels, depending on the brand or variety. With this kind so far, yes, there are kernels leftover. But much fewer than a lot of other popcorn brands and varieties, and easier for me to deal with than most other brands and varieties. So all around, for me, I love this popcorn. I'm pouring some out into a bowl and eating one flavor at a time to fully enjoy it, rather than mixing them both, but I can't get enough of it. I will gladly buy it over and over again. This brand did it right.
Onto my wife's thoughts. My wife loves popcorn. She's a popcorn fiend. It's a go-to snack for her, she's tried many kinds, and she has her likes and dislikes. Caramel corn happens to be something she just loves, while she usually doesn't like cheese popcorn. Again, it seems to be because of the usual powdered whatever fake cheese stuff a lot of brands put on cheese popcorn. She will barely touch it. Oddly enough, she prefers the cheese popcorn from this bag, for the fact that it does actually taste like aged cheddar cheese. She isn't as much of a fan of the caramel corn though. She didn't get the buttery flavor that I got. And when she described the caramel flavor, she described it as burnt sugar, which in itself is not a bad thing, but it's a little too pronounced for her.
Something both my wife and I agree on with this popcorn, though, is that we don't get the combination of caramel popcorn and cheese popcorn. Why are we doing that? Is it really a thing? For me, I feel like it washes the flavor out - I can't taste the cheese popcorn at all if I eat both at the same time. The caramelized (or as my wife said, burnt) sugar flavor is cut some by eating both at the same time. But again, it's at the cost of just kind of muddling the flavor as a whole. So when I eat it, I pour some out and then focus on eating one flavor at a time so I can enjoy it more.
All this being said, I have to say that this popcorn is some of my favorite I've ever had. Probably my favorite of these two flavors. The flavors were rich, pronounced, and enjoyable, the texture was good, there aren't a lot of kernels or pieces of kernels leftover in my mouth as I eat it, and it's a big bag. I can't get enough of it. If you're at all open to even *trying* caramel corn or cheese popcorn, I would recommend trying it to see if you'll like it. It was something I was expecting to just be a run-of-the-mill snack when I got it, but I'm serious when I say that I'm now going to be getting this regularly. This may be my new favorite.
